Daniel, Great to see you back. For someone without a TV background, you make a wonderful presenter. You make it look effortless, natural and totally unscripted? Looking forward to the next one.
@DanielDumbrill11 ай бұрын
Thanks! Unscripted, which was fun, as it feels more like the audience is experiencing everything for the first time with me as I explore, but it did come at the expense of missing some key points/facts that would've been good to include. I'll have to do a follow up visit sometime 😄

Great to see your update after long time! Amazing video! I like baijiu a lot! Maotai, wuliangye, jiannanchun... I heard the Yang He long time ago. It is one of 8 old traditional baijiu brands in China. But I never try it before, I just bought one bottle Hai Zhi Lan 2 weeks ago during my recent holiday in China. Have not try it yet, plan to try it during coming Chinese new year! So nice to watch your video, I learn more on traditional baijiu making process! Chinese baijiu is really the best liquid from the grains. It makes me love it more! Really appreciate your video, Daniel! Greetings from Singapore!

Hi Daniel, it's always a pleasure to see a new video from you! While I thoroughly enjoy your discussions on geopolitics, I can't help but feel your talents were somewhat underutilized when you were engaged in countering the constant barrage of misguided and irresponsible Western propaganda. It's important work, no doubt, but your ability to bring Chinese culture to life and introduce your audience to the day-to-day lives of people in China is truly exceptional. I encourage you to continue creating content that explores this area! I'd love to see more of the places you've been invited to. Showcasing the day-to-day lives of average Chinese workers and people is probably going to be the best way of demonstrating to the average indoctrinated Westerner that we're all not so different. Keep it up, and cheers!

Daniel, most interestingly presented doco on the subject matter. I somehow experienced through imagination the differences in taste, aroma and texture of the Baiju you sampled.
@wroughtforge754711 ай бұрын
The difference between vodka and beijao is that you don’t get a hang over with baijao. With vodka or other distilled spirits, the more you drink, the sleepier you get, with baijao, you get high but not inebriated. Of course, it also depends on one’s own personal chemical make up.

What the distiller said about microorganism in nature starting fermentation is why you can have a variety of flavors depending on where the grain comes from. When you make Kimchi you completely salt the cabbage to kill other microorganisms present and only the salt tolerant fermenter will survive and go on to ferment the Kimchi into the flavor we enjoy.

Thanks for your comment. I agree with you and it's something I thought about when editing the video. I looked at some of the other info (such as how distillation actually works) as it's something that's obvious to me, but forgot that many people may not have been exposed to this info before.
