Dr Meera Narasimhan is Chair and Clinical Professor, Neuropsychiatry and Behavioural Science, School of Medicine Columbia, University of South Carolina, USA.
She serves as Senior Medical Director for Behavioural Health, Prisma Health-Midlands and as the Special Advisor to University of South Carolina President for Health Innovations.
As a professor and a physician she holds leadership positions in healthcare and academia, and has championed health awareness, legislations with patient advocacy groups, addressed health disparities, while providing care for the underserved.
She has worked towards improving access to quality healthcare in the state and beyond following the principles of “Sai Ideal Healthcare".
She and her family came into the Sai fold in the 90’s. She attributes her life and its successes to Bhagawan’s guidance, immense grace and blessings.
She has had the opportunity to be a part of international medical camps held in Prasanthi Nilayam and also speak at Sai retreats and Sai centres.
A passionate educator and researcher, she has received several prestigious regional, national and international awards from professional and governmental organizations.
However she believes the greatest award and reward in this life for her is to have Bhagawan in her life and it has been her effort to follow the Sai ideals with sincerity, humility and gratitude.
In this conversation recorded in May 2022 in the Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre, she reminiscences how Bhagawan came into her life and has not only been Her constant Guru, Guide and God but also has opened up new vistas in her approach to life and work, thus adding tremendous meaning to her life.
