Classic Splat, plays a faction that gets money from trees, banishes the item that allows him to place trees that can create free trees. Looks like a interesting take on Tower defense, especially since you get to rearrange your towers each round.

@@The-Brocolis It was driving me insane. I was yelling at him throughout half the video. Mind you, it's otherwise pointless near the end of a playthrough. 1-3 paths are doable, but it's more like trying to redirect traffic in a city in the end. lol

Your gnome placement infuriates me. The game lets you rearrange them for free, but instead of rerouting the goblin's paths and placing them in corners for peak goblin slaughtering efficiency you place them neatly along the trail

Well I'll be damned, I thought this game was simple and lacks depth, the same opinion as Splat. I was proven WRONG because the level-progression, complexity and diversity of Gnomes (and structures) are *perfect!* It offers replayability too, albeit I might find myself fiddling with different strats every playthrough. Wishlisted, amazing game! Edit: It's addictive... The demo feels like a finished game. I think I've spent hours since I wrote this comment...

I don't think Splatty has fully internalized that this is a tower defense game. He's mentioned before that he doesn't usually like tower defense so he probably doesn't even realize that a lot of this stuff is somewhat common when it comes to modern TD games (like Emberward, Sanctum, etc.) I think he was sorta expecting it to be somewhat of an RTS, maybe like grid-based RimWorld but focused on combat, hence the video title "village survival."

@Sharlidar I played the demo, I got hooked. The symbol means a gnome is out of attack path, means it will do nothing and you should place them in the goblins path. And the top right exclamation I usually click to check if I miss an idle gnome.

I suck at tower defense but this video made even me mad. You are meant to funnel them all on the same path and then have the axe gnomes cleave trough as many as them as possible every single strike, preferably while herding them trough swamps if possible.

Im sick to death of the extremely low effort pixel "art" being used in so many otherwise fun looking indie games. Yea, the pixelated graphics genre can be awesome. But most developers seem to just use it as an excuse to not build any art assets for their game. I know its just my opinion, but I really wish people would do more pixel graphic games like Stardew and Dead Cells and Fez...
