I never knew there was a name to describe sonder, but I 100% relate to catching myself thinking about how insane it is that every single person you see, even if just for a second during your lifetime has gone through so many things, emotions etc. and lives their life and has goals just like you do. Puts things into a perspective that we're all sharing this thing called life

I love your style of videos, and I love your art. Your voice over is nice & calming, too, and idk I just really like the cadence of your voice / the way you talk. Thanks for sharing your talents with the world!!

That’s a nice word, sonder. Thanks for that. Reminds me of the Shakespearean speech. “All the world’s a stage, and the people merely players. They have their exits and entrances and one man in his time plays many parts.” Or something like that.

If no one mentioned it already, steaming your yarn is a super quick way to get your strands to straighten/relax. It also helps the fibers expand and set in your work. Love your videos and the longer format is super dope!🔥
@TokyoMakes2 жыл бұрын
agreed, this yarn looks synthetic and synthetic fibers need steam or heat to reform the shape. a clothes steamer would work great for this, nothing more fancy required.

This is the most relaxing, wholesome, creative, inspiring channel ever, i always look at your videos when I'm overwhelmed and I can't paint and it helps a lot.. I always overthink my art and you remind me to just go for it! The creative process is as important as the end result, so let's have fun with it!!

Please make more of these long format videos shmoxd, I always put your videos on when I’m doing design work but it’s so sad when they end. This was a perfect length and I loved the mix of screen printing with rug making !!

Its always so fun to watch you experiment. One project I have always thought to ask you to do was plastic canvas because I think its horrid but if you did it I bet it would be awesome. Also, could you use it to assist with the attaching of the strings between the rugs? Cut in strips and glued or sewn on. Also, if you steam the yarn between the rugs it should help straighten it out.
@morthunder4982 жыл бұрын
I love it when you talk about screen printing because you can really tell you used to work in a screen printing shop. (This is coming from the daughter of the owner of a screen printing shop). Love the long format by the way, All the way, brother.

the T shirt was a journey but you nailed it. The rugs turned out incredible. There ain't no way anyone is going to rent my car. My husband was into this concept when we first got our Tesla since it can be programed to open and start via the phone. I was a home car nurse and i Know how people live. They don't take care of things.

I heart this video so big! What a mind trip getting to collab with your Art Style Twin, Wow! It's like pull-a-part artwork squared equals a magical burst in the Artist's World! I'll be giving this one a rewatch whenever I'm in need of some inspiration. Thanks for thinking of your audience as Friends, lol My son teased me today when describing who Slew was: "I "met" Slew through (instead of "found") one of the YT wall artist, like Doke or 10Hundred." He said, "Ma, like they're your friends IRL" We both cracked up. hehe hUgz, Lee

Great work man ! I really take u as a Guide for me lol. Just one question, how do you do the backing part? I need some tips I kinda dont want to mess a clients rugs but cant figure it out the proper way. Im from venezuela an since we dont find the backing fabric here what I do is sew all the edges with a sewing machine

Hey Shmoxd I was wondering if you keep your scraps after tufting? Do you save them? Have you thought about doing a project with them? Maybe tuft a pillow and use the scraps as stuffing like your friend from that awesome video? Or making a tufted ottoman? 🤔 maybe with some embroidery too!!😃

Idk if you've ever seen those faux wood grain tools that look like a bunch of circles on a curved surface, but if you search online for faux wood grain tool, you'll find a few examples. I bet you could do the same thing with non-wood shapes. Probably still have to be a fairly simple shape though.
