God, I wish my 4th gen alt was this easy to fix! Mine was under the power steering pump, and had to play with it like a Chinese puzzle box to get it out, and the new one in!

Update on the alternator?
@robertappleyard70533 жыл бұрын
It’s pretty common to have to exchange pulleys.
@SavingSally3 жыл бұрын
I thought about that, but I didn't because changing the pulley would have slowed the speed of the rotor and change the output capabilities. Have you done it without issue?
@robertappleyard70533 жыл бұрын
@@SavingSally literally hundreds of times. I’ve had to do it on brand new equipment (engine vendor change etc). Any alternator is making its maximum output by 1500-1800 rpm.

Currently, a 305, all stock. The new build is a 383 cubic inch, Strikeforce heads (not a bad head, but not a good one either) the cam is a Comp Cams 08-502-8. I have a video on the cam here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYGWfIetpdh8nck
