The coolant sensor under the throttle body provides info to the computer to adjust fuel trim,( coolant temp sensor)the one wire coolant sensor on the side of the head is for the gauge(coolant temp sending unit). I’ve owned 7 3rd gen f-body’s and have plenty of experience with those sensors.

Hey I have a lot of questions regarding my 92 trans am firebird
@LifeWithPolo2 жыл бұрын
Where does the temperature sendor wire go to? Is it a ground that attaches to a specific location?? Or does it go into the wire loom or something? Please confirm if you can. Mine the wire is hanging off the sendor unit on the side of the motor.

Hi, when its like on my 89 GTA then the CTS under the Throttle Body is for the ECM. The Fan switch for the second fan is on the passenger side between the exhaust manifold. Its a single wire sensor, like the knock sensor on the same side. Great channel!

Thanks for the info, and thanks for watching.

My 92 GTA does the same thing. Funny enough..I was watching a video yesterday of a car salesmen driving a 92 GTA that the dealership is trying to sell. One of his comments while driving it was "it drives well, oil pressure is good and the temp is at a safe 120"🤣🤣

So I'm hoping maybe someone here has some ideas for me to help resolve a problem I'm having. 1988 Formula 350. Started running like garbage, chased codes down for a while and then determined I would replace the ECM. Car starts and runs perfectly now. However, it seems the transmission is stuck in limp home mode. Reverse works fine and it shifts into gear fine. It just won't upshift now. CEL is gone, and I don't get any codes when I jump the OBD port. Had no problems with the transmission prior to the running like garbage issue. This car has 26K original miles on it. Does anyone know if there is a sensor or something that could be bad that would cause the transmission to not shift? Also a new fun trick...the power antenna motor won't raise or lower the antenna but just keeps running

The transmission in your 1988 Formula 350 is a Turbo-Hydramatic 700-R4. This transmission is analogue (mechanical) controlled. The computer in you car does nothing to control this transmission except engage the lock up torque converter clutch when the transmission is in 4th (OD) gear. The problem with your power antenna is common in 3rd generation Camaros and Firebirds. Do not cut any wires or cables to make it stop running. You can pull a fuse or relay to make it stop running all the time or unplug the power antenna electrical connector under the passenger side of the dash. You can buy a brand new power antenna assembly that was OEM on 80s to 90s Jeeps that is a 99% bolt in replacement. I own many 3rd generation Camaros and Firebirds and have replaced the power antenna with this Jeep power antenna on six of them and done it on dozens more for other people.

@@Airwolf1971 so 3/4 clutch pack grenaded. Just picked the car up from transmission shop yesterday. Yes, I unplugged the power antenna connection under the passenger side dash. Thanks for the tip about the jeep antennas. I'm looking at the RetroSound PA01 antenna for 1984-1996 Cherokee. Looks to be what I need. Any chance you remember what jeep you ordered your power antennas for?

Hi, I have a question. Are you running original 16 inch wheels on Sally, or are they aftermarket 17?
@SavingSally3 жыл бұрын
The wheels are aftermarket. 17" reproductions. I had planned one a video featuring them too, so keep an eye out for that. Thanks for watching!
