A quick look at PINK & PRETTY BARBIE from 1981!

Hello and welcome back ... Let's take a quick look at a doll I had as a kid back in the early 1980's that I just added to my collection again; - The iconic PINK & PRETTY Barbie doll from 1981! As I love the box and its artwork just as much as the doll, this babe's staying in, so this is just a partial deboxing to show you all the goodies inside! I love it!!! She’s one of my favorite Barbie’s. In America, it’s the Taiwan version I often run into. So when I found a Philippines doll in the box, I got her! I did unbox mine, I love playing with her styles! Great video!!!💜

today i couldn't wait for a Fashion Figure Friday to share the JEM doll I bought at Walmart. See what I think about it. I made 2 videos, because i went back and got my original Jem dolls to see if they could swap shoes

Yesssss pretty in pink Barbie. I owned her as well when I was a little kid and I named her “Ginger”. I ALWAYS needed to give my dolls special names. Back then I was sooooo impressed with her grandiose jewelry and that pink fur boa. Until that point it was nothing like I had ever seen as a kid. Yes, Barbie had simple jewelry and outfits but nothing like this!! Today as a grown up when I see her now I’m like “eh” “I could take her or leave her.” Compared to other Barbies she’s rather plain.

'Ginger!' Love that!! What a cool story. Yeah, she's not really my taste either (and as I said, she really wasn't either back then) but recently I've been collecting the dolls I had as a kid so it may be a nostalgia thing for me with her. Anyway, I'm glad to have her now!

This is the version I had as a child, and she was never my favorite. The thing that I didn't love about her was her hairline, and the fact that she didn't have a thatched part in her hair. So she could only every have her hair in an asymmetrical ponytail. At least my doll's hair didn't fall out, lol. As I've gotten older I've grown to appreciate this doll more. And of course Pink & Pretty Christie is really spectacular. Now I have multiple examples of both dolls, and I have Taiwan and Philippines versions these days. I also have the electronic piano. It's cute, but I don't think I ever tested it to see if it still works. I got it new in the box and only deboxed it within the last couple of years. It is a lovely piece.

Yes, my poor Alopecia Barbie!!! I think she ended up wearing Brooke shields' huge beach hat and the scarf wrapped around her head and neck 50's style as any wig I had looked too weird on her! LOL Oooohhh I so want that piano now! I wanna pose one of my gals next to it wearing that 1982 Designer fashion 'Opening Night' ... that lavender pleated thing with the one gigantic puffed sleeve, and Ken with the corresponding 1982 Designer Collection 'Date Night' white and blue Tux!

Pretty and Pink 😍my mum gave my sister and I each one on a day we were stuck inside playing my sister wasn’t really into Barbie but I absolutely Loved her 🥰 this was definitely the beginning of my Barbie era the 80’s being such an affluent time I had All the Barbies 🤣👏❤️

oh, keep checking my Thursday videos! I went to a flea market last week on a Tuesday, and got BROOKE SHIELDS still in a box and CANDI in the box (no make-up but it's pretty much the same as the one i had as a kid). Also got some really cheap dolls!

LOL I think I actually tried to put a wig on her, but they all looked kinda silly. Then I think she wore Brooke Shields' big Perspex beach hat and scarf wrapped around her head for ages!
