I really like mine. I lift my Harley Ultra with no problems. Like most Harbor Freight stuff, it needs a few refinements to make it even better. First, go over every nut & bolt and tighten, most of mine were loose. Second, the gray support arms are very sloppy and need shimmed up to reduce all the side ways movement. After fixing these few issues it is a lot more stable.

I had really hoped you would have covered lifting a complete motorcycle which has a high center of gravity. How stable is it on the jack? Do you need straps to keep the motorcycle from falling off? If so, where do you attach the straps? Thank you.

Best to defer to other users experiences that have commented. I do not own a full size motorcycle so no way to review that. Was for our ATV's and other toys.

My '09 Road King has been up on this jack for a couple of days. It's pretty stable laterally, but there's a good deal of sway fore/aft. That sway is in the jack's lifting arms, so strapping it wouldn't help. It feels solid side-to-side, though. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable really torquing down on a bolt with the wheels too far off the ground, but it keeps the bike vertical. Really, my only concern is that the rate of descent is really fast; I wish there was a way to adjust it. I found this video while searching for a solution.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I was gonna get the steel version (“some” assembly required 🤣) but this looks to be thought out well.

Under load my saddle has a lot of flex and sway. If your load is not centered perfectly the saddle will flex toward the heavy side. Be aware that these ratings are more in line with loads fully lifted, whereas when the jack has only lifted a few inches the leverage the load has over the jack really stresses it out. My 700 lb bike really puts this to the test...which is not good. Just understand what you are getting.

@@TheMassdistortion I had to fabricate a front stabilizer...built to work with the second lock feature setting. It's solid now.

I have a Road King and a Road Glide. I find this jack is very unstable with either of these two bikes. It will lift them with no problem but once in the air they rock a lot and very easily. Makes me very nervous. I have to strap them on the jack for peace of mind. This jack also does not have any hooks for the straps to connect to. I realize a welder will fix the strap hook problem in a jiffy but I feel like it should have them out of the box. I have heard some have added stabilizers. I would love to see what they did. I feel I am going to have to do something. My old jack that quit never had this problem but it was designed differently and was much thicker where needed.

Did you have to add hydraulic oil before using, or does it come with oil in the device?

Question is, is this one worth the little over $100 extra over the Pittsburgh steel one?

I have not tried the steel one so unsure. I prefer aluminum jacks so... this is what I chose.

The specs list the minimum height as 3 5/8" and height as 7 7/8". Just to clarify, is the minimum clearance 3 5/8" and with the additional support 7 7/8"?

Correct, the higher minimum is with the risers installed.

Before I could use this lift I had to bleed the system, which meant taking it to a shop so they could unscrew the cheap metal Oil Fill Screw, (mislabeled in the owners manual page 5). The kickstand prevents the bike from being lifted parallel to the floor so I had to use bottle jacks on two-by-fours to lift the rear end to change my primary fluid. Now I'm trying to devise a way to use the lift without using bottle jacks to support the rear of the bike. I'll end up using two-by-fours between the lift and motorcycle chassis to get around the kickstand in the down or up position on my Harley. Anyhow... I should've got a different lift.

Lifted my gl1800 900 lb bike and can verify that it sways a bit. I was a litte uncomfortable. I found where some have added a 3/4” plywood extension on the right support to increase coverage and stability. Have not tried that yet.

I was concerned about the overall strength of the aluminum lift versus the all-steel lift. With this video, I am convinced it will handle my Harley. Thanks!

Is there a riding lawnmower adapter for it, that just picks up the two front wheels?

That I have not seen. I imagine it would go right under the front of a mower and with the height, would lift it fine.
