I bought the gray jack from HF. When jacking it up, it also had some wobble, but after you pass the any of the Rachet locks, I release the jack slightly and it sits down firm on the welded locks, and it then has no rock. I leave mine on the jack all winter, I have a 2020 heritage classic. Weight around 750 pounds. Works great. Just be smart and watch what your doing just like when you jack a car pay attention.

I have this same jack, I use it to lift my 07 Heritage, it’s a fantastic jack and does exactly what I want it to do. Fantastic for cleaning white wall tires and wheels. It’s a little unnerving the first time you lower the bike but once you get the hang of it it’s no big deal. Just make sure you leave the kickstand down.

Just found your video. Very informative. Thank you very much, I can now purchase one of these in confidence. 65 is coming up fast and I too don't like aggravating my knees. Very impressed and after scrolling through your videos I just had to sub..... also and more importantly, your motorcycle is absolutely outstanding!... God bless you sir.

Thanks man, I got one for my 1100 the other day at Harbor Freight and it's a little different but great. It's weird being able to roll around that big bad boy in the garage, but I love it. Mine has the foot pedals, but I think I like your twist pole design a little better. Yours seems smoother, but they work well for the money - what a deal for around $100.

Invest in some sort of tie down or ratchet strap. These lifts are nice but if your gonna leave the bike on it for a while the extra security will help. I’ve heard so many horror stories of bikes falling off of these things

Key fob in the pocket, lights wont flash. I hold the front brake lever when lowering bike, no roll. Get a K/L Dolly to set the bike on when jacked up, extra solid, rolls around easy. Note the lift points, find where you have good balance. Light oil on every moving point on the jack, including wheels. I've had mine 12 years, good investment. 950 lb. RKC.

I bought the HF steel jack because it had a lower clearance than the aluminum model. Jack works fine and I use tie downs. I am going to retrofit castors for the other side of the jack so I can maneuver it easier. As it is, I have to place a 2x4 on the kickstand to clear the jack. "83 Low Rider.

My son bought me the same jack and I absolutely love it. But you gotta be really careful turning that handle to set get the bike back down. Use both hands to slowly twist the handle to release pressure and once it starts going than you can use one hand and the other hand to hold the bike. Just like he did here. I almost dropped my bike the first time when I used it.

I've had one of these jacks for many years now older style. Advice I have gotten on them is 1 put a screwdriver through the handle to make lowering more controllable. The 2nd 1 I've made myself a stabilizer that goes on the rear of jack up to the saddle.

I have one of these jacks. I got it for Christmas about 20 years ago, a craftsman.problems with this type of Jack is, it’s in the Way too much.. whether you slide it in from the left or the right, it’s in the way on that side. another problem is, you have to lift the bike up balanced meaning you have to lift it up so that it will steady itself on the lift somewhat meaning you’re getting both wheels off the ground.. yes in the initial picture of this video, he’s got both wheels off the ground, but he can’t remove either one of them because it will not be balanced anymore… The problem with that is, if you remove the front wheel and front forks to do the steering head bearings, or if you remove the rear wheel, and swing arm, to grease the swingarm bearings, it’s like when someone gets off of a seesaw, the person remaining on the seesaw goes down.. OK so you strap the bike to the stand to hold it steady and even, those straps are in the way also, just like the jack assembly part of the tour is in the way on the side that you ported in from. this type of a jack has its uses, but mostly with lawnmowers, and quads, not so much for two wheeled vehicles.. I have a few videos of a device called a motorcycle scissor lift that I paid $50 free shipping on eBay for. They are now over $60, and worth every penny. They go completely under the motorcycle, they have two adjustable perch saddles it goes directly under your frame. They are rated at 11:00 pounds. I have videos here on KZbin with my 850 pound Yamaha royal star venture on the scissors jack I’m talking about, with the front wheel off, other videos with the rear wheel and swing arm off to do maintenance. as for my craftsman jack like the one in this video, I will sell it for $20. I’ve only used it two times. I would be glad to get it the hell out of my garage..

My son bought me that same jack for my birthday, it's built pretty good , but I have to get an adapter for my Indian Springfield. The Indians with the TS 111 engines have hydraulic lines that protrude along side the bottom of the engine case, so the flat arms of the jack are just too close for comfort. The adapter I found online is another $85, so overall not bad for under $300 in total.

Really would like to see an oil change performed on the road king when it's up on this lift. I bought this same Jack and when I had it in the highest position with the Road King on and I could tell it would be too wobbly to do any work on the bike. So seeing tie-down demos with straps to anchor the spike would be very helpful.

I have this same jack...couldn't be happier with it...my only complaint is that you can only lock it in place when the jack is fully extended...mine is an older model & doesn't have the built-in safety lock, just the bar...to slowly lower the bike, use both hands on the handle at first to barely crack the valve open, if you only use one hand, bike will crash down every time...once the bike starts sinking, then you can steady it with one hand while controlling the valve with the other...I can't believe you don't have a copyright strike with that intro...

I have that jack and my Road Glide Ultra has been up in the air many times. I always strap my bike when on a jack. For the price point, it's a pretty good value. But if you are not wanting this jack, then go buy a J&S because every affordable jack I've tried is just like the Harbor Freight jack.

@@JoePonkey I hook my straps to the axle at the front of the jack & the locking bar...I use 2 ratchet straps & make an X across the seat with them...do this after you have the bike in the air or it will bind up...Edit: I have an older model that doesn't have the same locking mechanism...DO NOT hook a strap to any ratcheting safety release....mine doesn't have that...

Im a fabricator so believe me your asking for trouble, Youve no idea who welded that! no idea if its been crack tested, No Idea if its been stress relieved! and for sure the paint will cover any cracks up that are there. Please use some additional supports under the bike, not straps but axel stands or even wood if you have no stands, straps could be added AFTER that. Nice bike btw..love it I dont wanna see if fall!. First the cheaper carbon steel Harbor Freight jack is more stable. I've had both. If you're going to move your Harley Davidson (the only bike I jacked) spend the money and buy a J&S Jack. Very stable jack when you want to roll your bike around on the jack. The J&S Jack is worth the money

Thanks for sharing this, I'm sure there are some people right now wishing they had a lift for their bike. Maybe they will find this review. I bought a genuine hand crank Harley lift for my 2000 wide glide. I learned when the back tire gets worn down I cannot slide the lift under the bike. I have to put down a piece of 3/4 inch plywood, run the back tire up on it and then the lift will slide under. Firs time I thought something was wrong with the lift. But I figured it out.
