The Spellshop really was lovely. Another I would recommend is the The Teller of Small Fortunes

I'm glad you had a good reading month. Mine was decent. This year overall I just haven't read a lot of hits. In November I did read Half a Soul which I gave 5 stars to and which was a stand out for me. But I feel like I have just had a lot of 3 stars across the board recently.

13 books! Good number! So glad your reading mojo is coming back 🙂. I, too, read 13 books in Nov. The best was Wildfire by Andrews. My biggest disappointment was The Hunter by French. I really liked The Searcher, but found The Hunter to have the same type of unreasonable premise that was the problem with In The Woods. Her prose is nice, but her mysteries are lacking, IMHO.

That’s exactly how I feel about Tana French- I appreciate what she does but it’s just not for me

I loved We Solve Murders! I’m happy next year we’ll get another Thursday Murder Club book but also I want the next We Solve Murders book stat! The Spellshop has been on my list for a bit but I know I won’t get to it until 2025. Hopefully sooner than later. I love that your biological children are cats. Me, too! I’m glad your reading experiences have been getting better. Here’s to a joyful December!

I know, I hope he can start cranking out 2 a year, but that’s probably unrealistic 😅

@ I listen to his podcast in which he has commented multiple times that he is a book a year writer. 😩

Please read "The Twelve Deaths of Christmas" by Marion Babson. I think you would love it! It's very Agatha-esque and I adored it. Very Christmas, close circle mystery that kept me guessing the whole time. ❤️

I love Hastings! He is a sweetheart! Where was Marple? you should have them sit by you for each video you make! Good video by the way! I have been reading all Christmas books for the last few weeks on my Kindle. I got some physical Christmas books from the library yesterday.

The nice thing about Cyril Hare is he is one of the least classist and racist of Golden age authors. The bad thing is he died relatively young, had a busy professional life and so his back list is fairly short.

I didn’t know he died young… I’m excited to get more into him. And I agree, in the 2 I’ve read, he’s had refreshingly neutral depictions of minorities and lower classes! The bar is in hell but… he does seem to be passing it so far 😅

You had a great selection of books in November. I read 2 non fiction history books. Both by Katja Hoyer and very nice to read. Also Hickory Dickory Dock by Agatha Christie. Afterwards l watched your video. Definitely not one of her best books!
