I wouldn't use the word cheating, because at the end of the day, you made it and its in the same world. But I'm thinking new gear without mending for S3, that way eventually(after the gear wears down a bit) you'll have a new task of replacing it. Thus, giving you something more to do. :)

I don't mind either way to be honest about the access to the old gear, I understand why a new subscriber might be a little annoyed, but I think it's a little of splitting hairs, with what enchants you have missing on your current gear. To summarise, don't mind either way, loving the series and hope you have a lovely day.😊

I think you should be able to unlock your old gear once you get to a certain point with your diamond gear , gives a good excuse to go back to your previous seasons base to retrieve it. I don't mind either way though!

Hey python i think part of the journey is getting overpowered gear, plus it will mean that the gear in the chest at the donut museum will have history per season instead of being the same OP set each time

I kinda feel like I would enjoy more not just using your season 3 gear, but continue staying in season 3 area and expanding that base. But, at the end of the day it's your choice, so whatever you decide to do, then it's ok. Have a nice day and keep up the wondeful work!😊

Hey Python, I totally get the dilemma with the old gear. It's a tough call! I'm happy to vote on the poll, and I'll definitely be tuning in for the stream tonight! Just curious, have you considered maybe adding some of the new gear to your old stuff to make it a bit more balanced? It could be a fun way to bridge the gap.

I think it's a good thought, putting yourself in the shoes of the new viewers. Ultimately, whatever makes you happy makes me happy, but I've been subscribed since before your season 1. If I were to put myself in the shoes of someone new, I might feel as if I'd like you to improve your current gear!

I like both options. Using the old gear would be more helpful to get more done, but also if you stick with current gear then you could make special displays for past seasons’ gear in the donut museum or soon to be extension to the museum!

I was thinking the same thing. That way If you want to try a different armor trim set-up you could make one for each season then put the old ones next to each other in the museum.

i dont think using your old gear is cheating, but i feel like its too early to use it now, its barely been a month since started season 3. i think starting to use it on 25th episode would be ideal :)

Heya Python. Right now i feel you have quite a lot of projects running, things you want to do. Getting your new gear upgrated means just putting those projects on hold and mine/blast away in search for the netherite+recycling books over and over again. So what i want you to ask yourself: Do you wish to do another grind episode, wich might be interresting to watch on the life stream.. or grab your tools now and start with your projects? I want to see you having fun, that for me is the most importent. ps watching your old vids again is really fun, started with where i left off, now at episode 47. Love to see the start of the donut museum wen it was not even a thought to make it such, the pixel art in the fountain.. and the mineshaft.

I think that it’s a world that you’ve had for a very long time and if you want to use your old stuff it’s up to you in the long run honestly cause it’s your world you do what makes you happy and keeps these series going and keeps them being the best Minecraft series on KZbin

Build a 2nd storey on the Doughnut museum, head back to the season 3 area and get yourself 4 fully powered beacons and then really start to get working on turning that area into something to be proud of!!

I think using your old gear is perfectly fine but I think it'd be cool for you to have some sort of Shrine for your season 3 Armour (plus I'm curious about how the Flow Armour trim looks on Netherite with the purple Amethyst!)

Hey Python, loving the series! Just an idea: you could do one season where you start from the beginning of the game and you need to reach a certain goal and then the next season you allow yourself to go back to the old part of the world and the you would alternate between the two types of seasons. Sorry for the long comment.

On the one hand, when I'm in a building mood, I want to minimize gear-related slowdowns. Best enchants with mending (except bow) as soon as possible and get building; anything that slows that down is annoying when you're trying to make progress on a build. On the other hand, slowing down and enjoying the process, , "restarting" with self-imposed gear limitations and/or moving to a new area, adventuring, etc. adds that fresh new world feel while still having the old world to visit. Both are awesome.

You should build a gothic manor using the new copper blocks, the new tuff blocks, and deepslate and put it above an Ancient City and turn the Ancient City into a gothic city.

I have been following for years and I follow for the content and the builds. I see the concern since you said this was a new season and you started over, so you should be starting and staying over. Also, what else are you going to use your shipwreck trades and all those levels if you are not upgrading your gear. But I also want to see you build more, so I am OK with the use of whatever gear you want to use.

I think you should use your season 1 gear whenever you return to the area as you are using the farms so you might Haswell use the gear, that way in the donut museum you will see how far you were able to get upgrading your gear each season before returning to the season 1 area. Basically, what I am saying is you should go back to your season 1 gear.

I think if you want to upgrade your current armor to netherite than I would wate until then to put on the new tools and armor

I'm OK with it and it's entirely up to you; but I did feel like it was a missed opportunity. For example, you deprived yourself of an episode in the end getting elytra now that you have killed the dragon and of a bastion episode getting the netherite upgrade template for your current tools, etc, etc. I think you should do what makes you happy, don't get me wrong. You know better than me what makes for good episodes. I'm not new for S3 FWIW, been watching you since S2 of PW.

Here's a thought python, why not keep both of the armors and tools just keep the diamond set as diamonds don't upgrade to netherite. I could see you doing some episodes as 'good python' or some as 'dark python'.

I think it would be better for you to get your season 3 gear up to scratch because of the new things that make then posibly stronger for example the mining proficiency getting better. You can't get that with your old tools and armor.

Id say why restart if you're just gonna go back to what you have asap skipping the gring to get tje gear the way you prefer.. You could have a separate building for your seasonal gear, like the hall of trims.. retiring the gear from the season beforehand, continuing the differences in seasons with differences in trum colors and or different enchanting setups..

I think diamond/netherite prot4/unb3/mending gear should be a good reason to use the old gear again. It's not the same kind of OP as the old armor, but it's too good to leave it behind. I'm not saying full netherite because "mining" for netherite is kinda boring imo.

Mr. Python, maybe you could just retire your armor and gear from each season and build a place to show them off. You could always look back at different armor trims and tool names from past seasons. Also, it would mean you just have to make new gear each season. Except for elytras. Having to find one without one is no fun.

To convenience yourself and us and your viewers why not just use the gear from each season in only that area of the world .that way if you forget a tool when you go to do a project in that area you have backups

Honestly dont know why but would like to see ya use just unbreaking and prot armor aka armor with no mending cuz makes it a bit more of a challenge dont get me wrong having op fully max armor is amazing but then whats the point like having to worry about your armor breaking mid battle and needing to make a new set is better rather that than grinding exp in a farm to mend it sorry if it sounds weird or crazy but you do you whatever makes ya feel better old armor or new

The way I see it, you're back to allowing yourself access to old areas to use old farms and storage and the like, there's no real reason you shouldn't be allowed to use your gear.

It does not matter to me nother. What about only useing the seasons tools when u r that season. For example if u r in season 1 just use season 1 gear and tools then if u r n season 3 just use season 3 tools and gear. But u can use the shuckers boxes in any of ur seasons

To be honest, it seems pointless to make a new season and then use op gear from another season? It means you cant progress through the game and you miss out on the excitement when finding things to make your armour or weapons better. Its boring to watch when you dont earn your things in each season. Still love your videos Craig.

I'm 100% in favor of you using your old gear and the old armor. In fact, I think you should feel comfortable starting each season WITH your old gear and nothing else so you can get a head start on your builds. Otherwise, you're just repeating yourself at the beginning of each season. I don't think you're "cheating" at all.

I have no issue with you continuing to use gear you have previously acquired. You did the work according to the rules at that time, and you're still playing in the same world. The fact that you are breaking your time in that world into 'seasons' (mostly to delineate major Minecraft updates, and move into new areas to explore new terrain generation and features) changes nothing. FWIW, Craig, I suggest this might be a rod you've made for your own back; If you weren't arbitrarily self-restricting your access to pre-existing builds and equipment at each 'seasonal transition', conditional on the satisfaction of a self-imposed 'challenge, I doubt this question would even arise as an issue. It seems to me that many of your viewers' expectations are pre-conditioned by watching other Minecraft youtubers who start entirely new worlds from scratch, whenever they transition to a new Minecraft update. That's not how you roll, and TBH, I don't think it's how the majority (?) of us play the game in our own much-loved Minecraft worlds, either. Keep the gear.

You've always gone back to the OG area and used the OG gear and tools. I think you left season 3 to early. You did kill the dragon but you didn't get your elytra. I don't look at it as cheating. You made the stuff use it if you want too. It's your world and your game.

Python do you have a discord ??? If not please make one so members of your can chat and send build pictures oh I just got lvl 30 enchantment p p 4 that you couldn't get until you removed bookshelfs but I play bedrock maybe that's why but I got projectile protection 4 lvl 30 enchantment on the table and I have a picture to prove it too maybe it's a Java thing but in bedrock no issues getting that lvl 30 enchantment
