A Quick Tour of Our Wood Steaming Box

This is our latest wood steaming box. Made from 300mm square ducting it is fitted to the wall at a slight incline to carry the steam along the box and to aid drainage of the condensate back into the water tank.
The water tank is an old aluminium beer keg which stands on a propane gas burner. This is connected to a square to round reducer via a high temperature flexible hose.
All of the ducting joints are sealed with high temperature flue sealant to keep the box water tight.
The next job is to put a door on the end and insulate the ducting to make it more efficient. For now a towel hung over the end is enough to keep the steam in the box.
