I have been a leather smith since 1970. In all those years I have developed many of the techniques that this craftsman has developed and a good many I have not. For such a young man to be such an amazing shoe maker at this age is an amazing feet. His skiving abilities not to mention his abilities to keep so many tools as sharp as razors is wonderous. He should be so very proud to have developed to this point at this young age. I have watched this video almost twice and will watch it many more times an continue to learn from this fine craftsman. Congratulations Siroeno on an amazing job well done and I hope to see more of your work in the future. You are an inspiration to leatherworkers of all types. Thank you, Frank Yantosca t/a Red Oak Leathers

I dont think a handmade pair of dress shoes like these will ever go out of style. The attention to detail it takes, along with the years of training, it creates something timeless and elegant that is instantly recognizable as high-end and handmade. Its great that artisans like this still exist and are doing well.

I remember as a kid going to the store not a big shoe store but to a local shop from around my way back in the early 70's and having the shop owner measure my feet extensively and having to come back in several weeks to pick up my brand new school shoes. I have to say I can appreciate the quality and craftmanship that it takes to make a pair of shoes. You can tell this man is skilled and loves his work.

The Japanese were the first Asian nation to leap from traditional, isolated island culture and economy to industrial economy in a couple of generations from the late 19th century. & after WW2 , they rose from the ashes of war to become the 1st Asian nation to become a 1st world nation. Yet able to keep many of its traditions & what makes it distinctly Japanese. I do think inherent in their culture is a value to do things right. Of course at times they also fail to do things right. But there is by and large a real value placed on execution & improvement is inherent in Japanese society & culture. This young man exemplifies this social & cultural value.

Same thing with Germany but for engineering, it's crazy how differently people are raised in these places, and how much it affects their abilities to do certain things.

What a beautiful thing to watch! I hope there will always be a few people like this around - when mass-production has robbed us of quality, this man stands like gold. Thank you for this beautiful video.
