Rather than forcing the food to be heated in winter and feeding it in an indigestible state, it would be more efficient to simply correct the unstable water temperature in the UK in midsummer to a uniform temperature of 25°C or higher, as in Japan, as this would not cost much in energy costs and the KOI itself would not need to be heated in winter once the body flesh reserves have been built up!

Depends on the pond size but, for me, the whole setup for my pond was in the region of £2000. A huge chunk of money I know (i must confess, I used my credit card) but a worthy investment 👍🏼

You'll find it even cheaper once you are at your set temperature and it just keeps it at that.
