I got both my cats for “free” but spent several hundred on each to get them fixed, immunized and micro chipped. Not to mention all there toys and food and stuff. Worth every penny! I love them so much!

Had a rescue experience 3 years ago in a similar type of place, the backside of a Walmart by the garden department. This rescue was a 10 year old male Norwegian Forest Cat. Didn't have a trap at the time so I brought food and water at night then on the seventh night put the food and water inside a carrier I brought and he went right inside. Took him home and to the vet, no microchip but he was neutered. Got him groomed with a lion cut, he had a fox tail halfway into his belly and two nearby abscesses to drain. He's just about 13 now, 'of course' I kept him....

Worked overnight at a Walmart in Canada about 15 years ago (2005). The unloaders found a kitten in a shipping truck, hand to have been in there for hours. They caught it and put it in a box in the front office. I took it home in the morning. That kitten was ticked off and was never much of a people person.
