On the Triumph Bonneville T100 to a quintessential English Village Event. Summer has arrived and all over the English countryside Villages are hosting fetes, shows, open days and events of every kind. Fresh back for our holiday and Mrs TAYM recovering from a hen night, I ventured out to a local village event organised and held by Pakenham Watermill. It was the Vintage Power Day. I didnt know what to expect but assumed tractors, cars, steam engines and the like. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video of what I found there.

That was a lovely day out! The Mustang with the 289; the number refers to the engine size in cubic inches, so 289 cu.in equals 4.7 litres. The Alvis is a late model TC 21 Grey Lady; the early models had painted window frames, rather than the chrome ones that this car has, so it's either a late-1954 or a '55 model. The Morris Eight is a Series E, made 1938-48; we had a 1947 Morris Ten Series M. The D-prefix (1986/7) Morgan looks like the +4 model, but that's a guess! The grey Jaguar is either a Mark VIII or a Mark IX; the only external difference is the badge on the boot lid; Jaguar was originally the Swallow Sidecar Company. The Rover P5B finishing line used to be below my office window when I worked at the Solihull factory, back in 1971/2. Lovely car, that! 👍Singer Motors (who made bicycles and motorcycles up until WWI) were taken over by Rootes Group in in 1956.

Lovely day out TAYM , thanks for taking us along . I enjoyed seeing the little Austin 7 parked between the " High and Mighty " cars . All of them are great though and very interesting seeing how cars developed from the early years . The unique engineering and the distinctive styling of the various marques . And nothing made "on the cheap" from China . Mmn . Have we progressed ? Not really . Old vehicles are our Time Machines and therefore very precious .

Hi Mr. TAYM, Totally enjoyed this video. Great to see your world and your local events. What made this video good was that you found time to chat to one or two of the owners of the vehicles. This adds greatly to the interest for us. Just a couple of snippets of info from the owners adds a great deal and a lot of the owners are right characters usually. Don't spend the 19p all at once. Thanks again. Looking forward to more mutters. Glyn and Neil M.

What a wonderful show! Loved the eclectic collection of vehicles, motorcycles, and engines. The car next to the yellow Corvette reminded me of Cully's car on Midsommer Murders. (I'm a mad fan. I have them all on disc.) The Alvis was so cool! 😎 I miss my Mustang GT from the 90's. My ex-trashed it, my 2000 Mitsubishi Montero, along with totaling two of my Ford Rangers. AAA made me sign a paper saying she couldn't operate my vehicles after that. Crazy days. Thanks for taking us along Mr TAYM!

Lovely little show. Seeing an Alvis parked next to a Morris 8 bought back some memories. For my first car I had a choice of an Alvis or a Morris 8. The Alvis owner wanted 30 punds for it and I only had 25, the Morris was 20 so Morris 8 it was. Thinking back on it as a new driver aged 18 the Alvis would have been a bit too much car for me. They were a lovely brand of car though.
