Kudos to you Sucharita! I'm a massive Rahman fan, and there are very few interviews I've seen him looking so free and candid. He's a really reserved man, and notoriously difficult to interview, but I absolutely loved this one!!

Illaiyaraja is just another composer that's it without a doubt we all like his songs, but Rehman is more than a composer , we all tamilians have seen him grow from 1992 massively when illayaraj was in a peek , Remember how illaiyaraja attempted to suppressed AR after roja when AR imported the studio equipments from abroad, despite of that AR never uttered a word about illaiyaraja and AR just effortlessly knocked off the obstacles and became a legend an icon of India in a short term that too from TN , we have seen the downfall of illaiyaraja BTW it is not the greatness of Rehmans songs , but it is the attitude which AR Carries through out his career makes people to love him. AR is a great inspiration of our time. So it doesn't matter how many movies one has composed, who people like is all matters. One only AR.
