On your subject of tree planting. I ripped up my unproductive,sterile,devoid of life front lawn woodchipped it and planted a mini food forest,using the principal of 7layers. Its now my third year sharing fruit n veg with the wildlife. My neighbours think im mad but im not the one chemicaly sterilising my front garden. That kebab looks awesome!

@@BlackCountryWoodsman my dad fell down some steps 3 weeks yesterday and broke 2 bones in his neck,4 in his back,injured his diaphram,been in a coma 3 times,has a tracky in his throat,cant speak,stopped breathing monday night and has broken ribs off the cpr and we dont know how disabled he will be so my dad has really been through it,hes in the QE.the dogs really miss him and have only just got them to eat...i did put the tent up last week but did not sleep in it just in case of any late night calls off the hospital.....thanks for the offer and i could see me and Toby in a mesh tent i would never get any sleep for him growling at the animals ha ha i will get camping again when my dad is better.glad you are ok.

I would consider shock cord between the tent and the ridgeline. Just for some flex in case of wind moving the tarp. I always use shock cord on guy lines and tarp prussics; always afraid of tearing out a loop. 😉😄😄😄 I like the DD stuff.

Hey I'm sure your dogs are well behaved, have you ever thought of taking one of them as a wild camping buddy. Hi man. Recently discovered your channel and have subscribed. I enjoy your content quite a bit! On the off-chance that you see this - is your jacket in this video the standard German Flecktarn waterproof jacket? How does it hold up when load-bearing - especially where the straps press down on the shoulders? Any leakages? I'm just beginning my journey into the outdoor/bushcraft path, so I need to build up my gear. I know you don't do "reviews", but any advice on practicality would be greatly appreciated. Hi Stephen, Thank you very much, I really appreciate you watching and your kind words Yes mate its issued kit, my jacket has been well repaired in several places and I've yet to have moisture come through even in torrential weather. The only downside, is I'd say the outside pockets could do with being a little deeper and that for some reason German surplus always seems to be slightly short in sleave length...Maybe I'm long in the arm heheh... Yeah mate I don't review as such as there's so many channels constantly reviewing gear that I really don't need to 👍🏻 Hope this has been of some help and welcome to the wonderful world of wild camping/Bushcraft. What a lovely woodland that is Mike. Like you say it takes a bit to get to but well worth it. Did you sleep under the bivi all night or did you stop outside at any time. With the forest all around you I was wondering what it felt like with a 360 view. I must admit that’s a very cool setup with the mesh tent and basha mate. Just a thought and I haven’t tried it myself but with regards to soot build up what about just dropping the glass slightly on the UCO. I got like you a lot of build up and yes it’s hard work getting the glass back in isn’t it. Any way, brill video as always mate. Cheers Ant 👍

Hi Ant, I slept in the bivi bag all night yes mate. Was great to have a 360° view of the forest and not have it restricted by the basha. Thanks mate, yeah the DD mesh tent is ideal for one person and very well made...Perfect size for under a basha👍🏻 Yes thats a good idea, I've tried everything I can think of with the mini lamp burner right down to reducing wick size and upping the air flow like you mentioned by lowering the glass. I agree with what you're saying...There is a real life purge going on and the population is going to be (being) vastly reduced. Mankind needs to start looking upon things from a more spiritual perspective, waking up to the real crimes as well as the get rich quick now and screw the people and the planets future... I recently went back to see the old house I grew up in and I was shocked to find every tree in the neighborhood had been cut down, When I was a kid most of the gardens had a rowan tree and there were three huge poplars and in our garden the biggest silver birch I have ever seen I used to climb that tree and I would think about how it would still be there long after I was gone, It was a real shock to see it gone. and old friend lost.

Your wonderful memories of climbing those trees shall stay with you even though they are no longer there. I'm working my way through your videos one-by-one. This has to be one of my absolute favorites thus far. I really do appreciate the time and creativity that you put into making these videos for us to enjoy. The photography is stunning; the trees, the babbling brook, the rays of light filtering through the foliage, the bird song, you sharing your wisdom and philosophy, the background music mixed in with nature's sounds, even the various camera angles you use.
