Join me on an amazing journey of solitude and self discovery.
I spend 10 days alone in the wilderness of Northern Ontario Canada
I shoot this full documentary in solitude, allowing for nature, and my real self to come to light.
I have very big ups and downs on this remote trip.
I make camp on an island to avoid bears and other larger animals.
I feed myself on fresh fish that I catch along the way.
I have eagle and crow friends, and see absolutely no one else for my
10 day wilderness solitude full documentary trip.

Hey joe loved the original series and just got done with watching it again. I’m 14 years old and I love camping/bushcraft. My dad recently passed due to firefighter injuries multiple myeloma and Neo crindien ( if I’m saying and spelling those correct) it’s been really hard on my family, I have a 17 year old sister and a 7 year old brother. It’s been the most hard on my mom as she was married to him for 17 years. He was the one to take me camping and now i’m not really able to anymore. It’s really hard for my mom to see me want to go camping as I can’t often. It’s been about 9 months without him and I feel like it’s getting harder and harder. I really enjoy your videos because it makes me feel like I’m camping, it makes me feel happy again. I have a 10 year old golden retriever that loved to go with us too. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you have really helped me through the toughest time in my life right now and I am so thank for That. Ps. I really hope you see this, as it would make me feel so much better. I don’t like to tell a lot of people this story because I don’t want them to feel bad so please don’t.

There aren't many youtubers that could pull off a 3.5hr video, but you can do it, and do it great. Despite the fact I already saw the original series I'm still just as enthralled the 2nd time around. I'm slowly putting together the tools I need to start some bushcraft here in Nova Scotia, 100% inspired by this channel. Found Doug Outside, Shawn James, and Scrambled O through this channel and I don't know what I'd do now without your guys' content. Just waiting on a few more things to get here so I can get out in the woods and get started.

That image of you sunning your 'dogs' on the rock reminded me of a Thanksgiving weekend trip with my friend in the late 80's. We headed to a spot near Johnsondale (west of the Kern River), but it began snowing...a lot! We couldn't get to our spot due to a locked Forest Service gate, so we pitched the tent in a spot next to the road. Tried lighting a fire with all that snow coming down and it just wouldn't work, so we climbed into our bags and slept. When we woke up it was noticeably warmer, most of the snow was gone and part of the tent was in several inches of water. Almost everything was soaked, so we packed up and went to the closest free spot along the Kern. We made a HUGE fire and dried everything within a few hours. Then the sun came out and we just laid in the warm sun, it felt SO GOOD!

Joe. I hope this comment reaches you. I've been watching your videos for a few months now, even got to the point of going back years and watching the good ol' days. Wanted you to know that you have inspired me to start Bushcraft camping in Ohio where I live, I've always wanted to. I'm not really sure why but it means a lot to me watching you do what you do, feel like you're alive when you get out there and I want that. I hope my journey is as gratifying to me as it is to you when you to treck out. Recently found through your videos that you were on Alive, started watching until the episode where you left, to me there's not much worth watching after that ha. Just wanted to thank you for being real, talking about your weaknesses, the things that matter to you, family for the most part, good friends, good food, and great beer 🍺. On my first camp, you better believe I will be bringing along a nice tall IPA and toasting to you, my brother from the North. Keep doing what you do no matter what. Hug the fam and Mr Scout for me.

Caden, my condolences son. I know its hard. It sucks that you have to grow up in a hurry and assume many of Dads responsibilities. Its cool to see that you know your most important functions are taking pressure off Mom and helping your siblings. That being said you need your outdoor activities. I know that camping, fishing, hunting etc kept me balanced during difficult times. Dont write off Scouting organizations. There are some groups for young adults. Consider Cadets. Maybe Big Brothers. Look at groups like the Outward Bound types. My kids did an 'Outdoor Education' option at school. Winter and Summer courses. Good luck son. I wish you and your family the very best. You have my prayers Caden

Watched til the end, loved the entire video! It blows my mind how I'm in a city surrounded by people, and then there are places like this on Earth that are so remote and so beautiful. I seriously need to do a solo camping trip like this sometime soon.

I use to live in Northern Arizona, a very beautiful place. Even though I had a nice little place to go home to, most of my time was outdoors surrounded by abundant, spectacular beauty. These weren't always times of solitude as friends & our dogs were always nearby. At the very least my Dog, Roscoe was always with me. I sure miss that little soul. I am so happy to have cone across this series. I know I will enjoy it.

What an amazing video... I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. My ears perked up when you mentioned flying in to Thunder Bay airport... I was born in Thunder Bay and grew up in Northern Ontario. This video felt like home to me... the lakes, the pike, the loons, the bears, even the blackflies haha. Made me miss it a lot; there's no place quite like the Northwoods! A tip though... you were right on when you mentioned not getting enough fat from the pike to sustain yourself. If you mean to live on a diet of solely fish, you'll need a fatty fish. If you're in a place like this one where you're only getting pike though, you might want to consider foraging for dandelion greens, fiddleheads when they're in season, and berries when they're in season. Extra nutrients to keep you feeling fit as a... well, fiddlehead haha. Awesome video, keep up the good work.

Hi Joe. I received something today which i can't wait to try. Now what could it be? Am I the first person in the UK to own a jar of JOE ROBINET SPICE RUB? Lol. Wayne (From the U.K) UPDATE. I've now had time to try out my jar of Joe Robinet spice rub and all i can say is, BAM SON, it is truly great. The way the ingredients complement each other is great. I followed in Joe's footsteps so to speak and had the spice rub on a T-bone steak and I couldn't get enough of it. Big thumbs up 👍. Wayne (From the U.K)

I LOVE the big tarp. I see soooooo many "bushcrafters" and "survivalists" who make videos and cram themselves underneath a 5x7 tarp or a military poncho week after week after week. If you are carrying a tarp into the woods ( and everyone should ) why would you take a 5x7 and not an 8x12 or a 10x12 0r a 12x 15 . . . . at least the good old " 3x3 " (. _3 meters by 3 meters_ ). The pack weight and size is not enough more to make a difference in carrying it, but the cover the bigger tarps provide is priceless. Thanks for being real.
