Visit my website at www.junglejoel.com - Nephelium lappaceum is commonly known in English as the rambutan. When in season, they arrive by the truckload. Thailand is the largest producer, where it is referred to as "ngo" (เงาะ). Rambutans store well in the refrigerator and are a non-climacteric fruit - that is, they ripen only on the tree.
Because they are often confused with lychees (Litchi chinensis), I draw a comparison between the two in this video.
