My little girl started doing that around 2 or 3. I think she was worried she’d miss out on what we were doing during the day. I started saying let’s take a “rest” instead of nap. The word nap triggered her for sure! I’d also tell her we were all taking a “rest” and that helped her feel like nothing else was going on that she’d miss! She’s five now and will still take a nap from time to time :)

I don’t know if that’s just a European thing to have but if Parker grinds his teeth so much they chip, I’d definitely recommend getting special braces to wear at night. They’re like Invisaligns but thicker and they really save your teeth at night from grinding!

I grew up with my mom running a daycare and then ended up working in one when I was older, and honestly a lotttt of kids around coves age end up not needing naps consistently anymore. In a daycare environment they are still made to lay down and usually end up eventually falling asleep, but as someone who has been around a lot of kids, I don’t think naps are necessary for a lot of kids that age
