This past Monday, I got word that the Amtrak Museum Train would be on Amtrak #4. Upon hearing this, I headed up to Fullerton with a friend, and waited there for #4 and the Museum Train later that evening. Caught the typical Amtrak and Metrolink action, but BNSF delivered a big surprise! BNSF 9768, a SD70MAC still in the BN Executive paint scheme, came through Fullerton on a WB stack train from Atlanta, GA. Something you sure don't see anymore at Fullerton! Also caught a tight meet between the BNSF La Mirada Local, and Amtrak #582. First time seeing the La Mirada Local, I'm digging the caboose!
Amtrak #4 arrived around 30 minutes late, around 7:20 with 3 P42's on point, and 406, the Museum Train, and P42 156 in Phase 1 paint on the rear. The Amtrak Museum Train is currently on display at the Grand Canyon through Monday. If you ever have a chance to visit the train, it's well worth it!
Train description and information all in the video.
This week will also be the last week of normal Friday videos from around Southern California, until October. Starting next Friday, and throughout the whole month of September, I'll be taking you all around the Toronto, Ontario area! Toronto is the railfanning empire of Canada, with a constant supply GO Commuter Trains, VIA Rail, Canadian National, and Canadian Pacific trains. It'll be a Canadian Invasion September! Stay tuned for some amazing sights all around the GTA area, plus the occasional bonus video!
