I was hoping this would have been a bit stronger but it did struggle a bit from talent rerolls. This was a bit rough though. #ravenswatch #nightmare #piedpiper

yeah, they need to buff rats. Maybe base damage? Or make them scale somehow. 1 more attack per chapter? I'm totally fine with rat builds being niche and not the most powerful, In fact it would be kinda wierd if it wasn't like that. But they need to be good enough without the absolute nuts rolled on all talents, and still having to play your butt off to make it work. Kudos for pulling it off, did not look easy!

I think you highlighted the issue pretty well, the rat build is only good with all the rat talents falling into your hand, and if you're not going the rat build then any rat talent provides close to 0 benefit for your run. Maybe a talent like rats deal more damage with each attack until they die or something. And without stimulant vibes, rat builds are just helpless if they all die but you still have half a camp of enemies to kill

I just started playing again and saw they nerfed chorus + low notes and spinning soloist pretty badly. What piper builds do you feel are the strongest after the patch? I'd personally love to default to dash builds now, but dash builds are so hard to get online. Side note, I'd love to see a run of the defense build some time with the bugfix to sound barrier.

I haven't played too much Piper since the update so I need to do a chours + low notes run to see how it's feeling. Spinning solo is now down to 70% crit chance at legendary, I think pairing it with a 5x stack eternal rose to make up for the crit chance and get the extra crit damage, along with freezing trap, extra measure, quintuplets, sniper, and power damage is still probably his strongest build And I'll probably do the defense run next time I come around to Piper

Passing on chorus at epic, spinning solo at epic and low note in the same video... You just unlock a new anxiety for all main Piper out there. The rat RNG is hurting the rat build more then anything they have no concistency in what they atack so you can't play arround it at all.

In a world where I'm not trying to make a rat focused video, this would have been the greatest RNG I've ever had... But yeah I agree, I think freezing trap and simulant vibes early on would be the ideal route but not getting stimulant vibes until level 9 really hurts a rat run

Just fyi the "damage dealt" doesn't show the damage the rats do.

I think my mind has been tainted by some of the runs that just obliterate the endgame, overall I agree, this is still a pretty decent build. I think one of the tough things with piper is you either want to go all rat talents or none of them, there's almost no situations where you'd want to take a rat talent without a rat build and I think other characters don't have this issue as much

@@positive4ce that's an interesting point how pipers talents all kinda build on each other's damage increases, while most other characters are just adding moves to their overall combo

@@positive4ce talking about your tainted mind, I agree, that is something that play testing many roguelikes has taught me: is that the viable but hard to achieve builds are the most fun and rewarding.

@@samritz742 100%, like before the update going chorus + low notes didn't really feel appealing to me cause it felt like a free win once I had them, but trying to get a rat build to melt the boss feels like a major test of game knowledge
