That really is a very nice body style. I like it a lot. Those were some of GM’s absolute best years. They were hitting home runs all over the place.

This video really saddened me... You see this was my dream car, which I owned back in the early 90's. It was also a '67 Nova Coupe. I bought it in pieces for $900 without an engine or trans. It had everything else in excellent shape. The only thing missing was the Currie Ford 9" Detroit Locker rear end that I bought for it with lowered leaf springs and 8" wide Weld wheels with BFG's. I had the whole body walnut shell blasted then I sprayed self etching primer and K200 filler and used guide coat to straight edge wetsand to perfection. I was planning on painting it black and adding a 400 small block with a cam to sound like yours. I had $5800 into it and sold it for $3800. I still remember when the guy picked it up and drove away with it on the back of a flat bed. Probably would have took another $10,000 to finish it, but at the time I wasn't making much money and never thought I would be able to finish it. One of my biggest regrets.

Well preserved '67. I have owned my '67 SS since 1982 but the car has been in my family since 1976. Research will show you that an actual 10,000 Super Sports were built in 1967. Approximately 3,500 were built with V8 and 4 speed combo. The remaining 6,500 Super Sports were V8 or straight 6 with 3 speed manual or powerglide automatics. Plenty of '67s with post were built and called Novas also, but referred to as post sedans rather than 2 door hardtop. All Novas from 1962-67 were called Chevy II Nova, to include hardtops, supersport, 2 door sedan, 4 door sedan and stationwagon. 1968 was the first year where all Novas were sedans and no hardtops were ever built. 68 was also the last year the Nova carried the name Chevy ll along. After 68, All were call Nova, only.

From '62 to '67 Only 400 series cars were Novas , the 100 and 300 series cars were Chevy IIs . In '66 only the Super Sport cars had no Nova badges on them anywhere .

@@bobbrinkerhoff3592 also idk if the first comment is wrong but, looking it up it says there were only 3,547 1966 Chevy 2 SS’ Novas with the L79 engine made

@@crispy1645 correct , I have personally owned four '66 SS cars out of thirteen total Novas . The following badges are found on an original '66 SS ; the grill has a Chevy II and a SS badge . The hood has a the hood has a piece of trim on the front edge of it with Chevy II molded into it . Rear quarters had Super Sport badges in place of Nova badges . The large trim on the trunk lid has both Chevy II and SS cast into it . Moving inside , the horn button and radio bezel both carry Chevy II badges . The console carries a SS badge , and they had Super Sport above the glove box . 283 cars had the crossed flag badge at the bottom of the front fenders , 327 cars had the flags and a 327 badge , six cylinder cars carried no engine badges . Not a single Nova badge anywhere on the car .

@@crispy1645 Idk about the breakdown but there were almost six thousand total L-79 equipped cars built . You could get a L-79 in a 100 series Chevy II sedan , a Nova sport coupe , or a SS sport coupe . There have been rumors for years about a couple of L-79 wagons being built , but to the best of my knowledge there has never been any documentation found to support such a rumor . The first two " Grumpy's Toy " race cars built by Bill Jenkins were L-79 Novas and not SS cars as they weigh slightly less than a SS version .

Beautiful car, great story. I just bought a 67 2-door post. Did you make the flat Center wheel caps? Or buy?
