I enjoyed watching this well done video about my home town, I love the city of Winnipeg, there is nothing like a winter day when all the trees are covered with horror frost and the most beautiful summer days and and long summer nights, and a large portion of the best people in the world live in Winnipeg.

Great video, glad you liked our province. Glad you made it here before our lockdown or you would be stuck inside watching tv or watching some other KZbinr enjoying a vacation. Come back in the summer and swim at some of our beautiful lakes. If things are SORT of back to normal. 😊

The real Manitoba winter experience is waiting for your missed bus at a transit stop for 45 mins, toes and fingers painful and burning.

Dam'n true, once I had to walk 4 km since my transit was 1 min early after saying it's gonna be 1 min late 😐. It was -30 without windchill🥶. It wasn't even a heated station so walking was best alternative.

I’m so proud to see a Cali girl come embrace our winters! Next time see the Zoo lights around Xmas. Too bad you didn’t skate on the rivers at The Forks, always next time! Manitoba is truly a hidden gem to the rest of the country. Riding Mtn, Duck Mtn, Spirit Sands, the river valleys, our huge Lakes, Hecla Island just a few thing you need to come see in the summer next time. The endless walking trails in the city too. And glad you came once in the summer, I hope it was humid n hot to show you we aren’t just cold snow n ice. Awesome vid loved it! dont forget to get a Beaver Tail to eat

Pretty sure this is the first time I've ever heard/seen anybody mention Manitoba as a worthy tourist destination for something other than Churchill. But I love me some outdoor hot water, so the Thermea Spa by itself makes me consider it. Throw in the AMG track and the Festival de Voyageur, and I'm now sold. Looks like the festival is only 10 days away. Checking my calendar now. Hmmm.....

I’ve gone in the summer and did a big canoe trip and there were no other tourists around, now that I’ve gone in the winter too, I honestly think it’s a very well-kept secret!

Honestly if you're wearing the right clothes it's fine! We were outside at night for hours watching the aurora in -30 and I was fine.
@sand0decker4 жыл бұрын
The saying that the dry cold isn't as bad is true if you are dressed properly. I recommend asking around online for information on what clothes would be best. What is in your malls will not suit
@DexRobinson4 жыл бұрын
I know this comment is 6 months old but I just want to mention this for the record. Winnipeg is city of delightfully extreme temperatures. Yeah, minus 30 in the winter is not uncommon but usually not for more than a few days at a stretch. What people don't talk about is the PLUS 30 and higher temperatures in the summer. We usually get a few plus 35 days. The serious cold generally runs about 3 months from mid December to mid March. Winnipeg is one of the sunniest cities in Canada and I drive a convertible in the summer. It certainly isn't always minus 30.

Should've tried some ice fishing and snowmobiling too LOL ice fishing is a HUGH deal in south MB and the network of snowmobile trails is so expansive you can travel with just as many options as a car. Every little town in MB has a snowtrail that goes through it
@Bemytravelmuse3 жыл бұрын
We did snowmobile in Churchill! That video's on here too :)
I appreciate when others go to wpg and have fun! Easy to take it for granted as a local, I guess that happens to locals from anywhere eh? You don't realize what you're missing until you leave

So true. I've found Manitobans are really proud of their province, though, even though most people from other parts of Canada totally underrate it!

Amazing video and very well edited. I love winter and there's no better place to enjoy it than Canada but I have a question. You're American, right? So if you wanted to experience winter time why didn't you go to Alaska? Don't get me wrong, I love Canada and Manitoba especially. I'm just curious.
@Bemytravelmuse4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliments! So glad you liked it. As much as I love Alaska, it's very different to Manitoba, and I really like Canada, so I want to experience as much of it as I can. I love places like this that aren't as popular and that have that special something people might not have realized it has.
@herxen824 жыл бұрын
@@Bemytravelmuse I thought about it and you're right! Alaska is great, but I think it's too obvious choice for spending winter time. It's becoming too popular with too many tourists and so many administrated parks, especially in Anchorage and Denali areas. I got a friend who traveled "in the north" and he told me "Don't go to Alaska, go to the Yukon Territory. Same as Alaska, but less people and more wild nature."

You needed to keep heading east into Kenora. Lake of the Woods is unprecedented in beauty. I've lived here all my life. We purposely tell people it sucks, cold, brutal winters, bugs, and no summer. This is how we protect our secrets. But in reality, we have the best backyard nature has to offer. All the best.
