Nice review, Thank You! I have had mine for 6 days and use it for walking/jogging but not constant heart rate monitoring nor notifications. Used GPS for over an hour 5 days in a row and battery has stayed full with sun while walking and under a lamp when not wearing. This is great since it looks like plugging in may not be necessary which is surprising with GPS which uses much energy. My Garmin Fenix 5 needs plugging in about every 10 days with sames usage. Great watch that like you state wears smaller on the wrist than what size would predict on my wrist which is about your size in the video. I did not need this watch but love G Shocks as well.

the GSHOCK-GBD-H1000 as well as the H2000 are really durable and stabilty in wearing, SOLAR ASSISTED, andGSHOCK resist, wtaer reesistance 200m..dropped several times and no damage...a great watch to have.

Have it on my wrist and love it. I wear a garmin instinct daily which is way more functional with text replies, weather, sleep monitoring etc., but this MOVE is so pretty and shiny. If the software catch's up it would be amazing.

I returned my gbd h1000. It looks great but is absolutely awful. The h1000 doesn’t nothing well. Instinct is better forsure. Gbd 100 seems better for the cost

I just went for a run and it didn't pick up the GPS till a half mile in. The step counter is off by 5,000 consistently... But like I said it's so shiny and pretty and where I work it's nice to know I can bang it around and it won't break.. I'm keeping it.

Matt C I have the $150 gbd 100 now and returned the bigger one. This one is way more comfortable for work for me. The heart rate and solar I could care less about on the big one. The vibration actually feels better on this one. The watch is a lot smaller but comparable to my garmin instinct. It still does the move app. I can live with this one.

Really impressed by this watch. Got mine yesterday and have all the bells and whistles enabled and so far it seems to be able to run completely off of just the solar. Granted I'm in the sun an average of 4 hours a day but having a smart watch powered off of the sun feels insane.

Also, I had to update it and the app says I'm on version 3 but it seems that the notifications hit the watch at the same exact time as they come in. I've seen some people say it had a 3-5 second delay but I haven't had that experience yet.

Got mine this past weekend. It really feels like a G deep down. I really enjoy the sensors and the solar aspect. Hopefully they’ll update the interface a little bit as time goes on. It’s slightly annoying to get to your notifications last haha.

Completely agree. It's a proper G-Shock! I'm confident software tweaks will continue. I want a way to edit those screens so notifications come earlier!

Unboxall TV This was my biggest complaint also. If we could move notifications screen to the first screen option and bump the 10 to 20 notifications limit that would be perfect. Certainly seems possible with a software update #casio

True :) Mine also seems to present an issue with some notifications. They don't disappear from the watch (remain as new) after being 'taken care or' on the phone. Especially applies to phone calls, but there was also some other type. Most of them work fine, but some will appear on the watch until I open them there or until they're replaced by newer ones (last 10 appear). Weird thing that I don't like is that Bluetooth (thus notifications) stops working after an hour of no use. If I put the watch on my desk and the phone is charging elsewhere, watch will not receive any notification after an hour of no use. I really don't like this, especially since this cannot be disabled. But still, I took it, cause it's a G-Shock with notifications and has a hr monitor. Not as a smartwatch to handle notifications. I'd be happy even if there would be no accessing notifications. It's enough for me for the phone simply vibrate when something happens on the phone and show a toast to explain 'what's cookin' :) Managing notifications via buttons, one the last menu page is not what I like, so I usually don't go there.

Great review. I just ordered one of these today and I'm excited to see how much I will enjoy it. To me, the draw of this watch is the on-brand g-shock toughness (or really to me the reliability of it). I will not expect it to suffer the common problem like the risk of cracked screen or water damage with the other product like the Apple Watch or the Samsung smart watches. Of course Garmin's line up offers more capabilities depending on models, but this G-shock Move seems to fit the bill for a casual outdoor / fitness enthusiast with the right amount of functions and mid range pricing.

Great review on a watch I have coming tomorrow. I had given the rangeman GPR-B1000 and as neat as the watch was/is it ended up being a catch & release. I have a standard rangeman 9400 and with this GBD-H1000-1A8 the two should do what's desired & my Hopes are as more people opt for this then the clever programmers will add more to the app. Enjoy the watch..

Eventho I have a Samsung S21 Ultra I still want a G-Shock smartwatch! Always love how rugged and masculine G-Shocks are regardless of whether they're land/sea/air or smartwatch!

The last week i bought the gdb-100 that is the cheap alternative of the watch in the video. The gdb 100 works really fine, but the only problem is the app that permits you you to vinculate the watch with the Phone. Is common the disconnection and ayer to vinculate it again you have to unpair both dispositives. That process has to be repeated a lot of times in Just one day. Because of that i change the gbd-100 for another watch.

Does the GBD-H1000 have world time sync feature to be accuarately synced to the Atomic clock to be in line with the NYSE just like the GW series of G-Shock watches? If not, can the time be synced to the Atomic Clock via its blutooth and internet connectivity features? And does the charging cable port have a cover to prevent the watch from getting its circuitry fried when it is fully submerged in water or isnit just exposed with some water repellant coating?

I love the look too. I've been testing it for a little while, and updates have been coming through. I see no reason why they would stop. The software on the watch is good, but the app needs improvement.

Garmin Instinct and Fenix don't use touch as the buttons work better in wet and cold conditions - these have both fitness and outdoor uses.

Personally I couldn’t get on with this watch. I tried to use it on the treadmill but the watch didn’t track my distance very well. Shame really because I love G-shock. Hopefully the next one will be the dogs bollocks.

G-shock by nature isn’t designed for home fitness. It’s an outdoor-focused brand...the GPS function doesn’t even really work without satellite access...which is only obtained outside...lol. Not quite sure what you thought it was going to be.

Although a very comfortable watch to wear, it does have its drawbacks. 1. You have to wear it all the time, if you change watches for a day or two, you have to reconnect the app to the phone, not an easy task at times. Paid $500.00 plus here in Canada. Should of got the Garmin phoenix . Software update is needed to apply to my every day walks and biking. Likes and dislikes are almost at par.

Totally different. Not better, not worse. It's like comparing a 4x4 offroader with a hot-hatch. For excercising - H. For Hiking and all 'out in the field' activity - R. I'd love a Rangeman with a heart rate monitor and that level of customisation :)

I've had mine for three days now, I've noticed there is major issues with the heart rate sensor. I average 80-90bpm I have tachycardia. on all three days commuting to work its telling me my heart rate is 200-220! I have a average highway drive but not a 220bpm drive, I'm not racing or driving like a maniac but a 220bpm is not correct that's too hardcore. But at work I used a pulse ox and the reading was spot on. has anyone had issues with their GBD-H1000?

Garmin instinct is 1/2 the price and the o/s is way way way better and you can reply to messages and emails on the watch with preset responses

I did try the Fenix 5 on at 47 and for me it was just too small however I am a big guy. I would have absolutely bought the Instinct if it was a bit bigger but also bulkier like the G Shocks as it has similar styling but still streamlined like the Garmins generally. Good watch though

Today on how to fuck things up, or how to troll the customers. All we wanted was a Garmin instinct in a Rangeman case. This looks cheap, it looks like a Pro Trek next to a G-shock, a wannabe watch. . 99.99% of people get the Rangemann for the looks, build quality and materials, not because we expect to get lost in the middle of a National Park every week. So all they had to do is to take this internals, put them in to a Rangeman case, and make the notifications a priority. Even world athletes check the watch for notifications, far often then they do to monitor their training. this is a less apealing design then a 130$ GA2000. Hope they will make a Master of G out of this soon.
