Go to the CASIO website, you type in the 4-digit reference, which is on the back of your jewel, and once this is done, in this case: 3475, or simply by typing the name of the model ( GBD-H1000), then you scroll the page slightly, click "instruction manual", then choose "PDF User Guide".

As a G-Shock fan I love the watch. And the interval timer feature is interesting. I've been using the multiple timer function on the non G-Shock AQ-S800W and the W-S220 and fell in love. The beauty of both these watches is that they are solar powered so multiple alarms do not drain out the battery like the auto-repeat timers do on the DW-5600 or the SGW-100. Plus with both of these you can set up the timers so you know when the particular set has ended rather than trying to recall whether you did 3 sets or 5 with the simple auto-repeat function. The issue I have with this watch is the size. Yes, the big size does help with the display, but so does Big Ben and try as I may, I cannot put that on my wrist. I have enough trouble wearing my GR-8900A-1 or my GD-120 with the factory straps. The curve of the bands is still greater than the size of my wrist and they don't fit well. I've ended up converting both to wear on nylon bands (with adapters). A more decent size with interval timing option would have been the GWX-5700, but that never came to the local AD for G-Shocks and it had a very limited production run (I don't know why). That was a cool watch. Sorry I missed it. I also wonder about the functionality of the watch as a standalone piece of equipment. What percentage of it's functionality is lost if it is not paired to a phone? And how will the connectivity change with software and phone updates? Will the watch update its OS along with the phone (I doubt that)? What happens when phone and software tech overtake the watch? How long before you get a message that the current app version does not support your watch? I agree on this though. Waaaaaaay better than Apple. (I know I'm gonna get flak on this.)

Faisal Qureshi It has an interval timer ? I just read in a review that it doesn’t have an interval timer and so therefore it might not be the best watch to buy for HIIT
@faisalghani
@faisalghani 3 жыл бұрын
@@eivoMSeb The official site claims it has a countdown timer which has "Interval measurement (up to 5 timers); measuring unit: 1 second; countdown range: 60 minutes; countdown start time setting range: 1 second to 60 minutes; 1-second accuracy; auto-repeat" whether that has to be set through the app or can be setup on the watch, I don't know. 5 timers seems a bit on the low side though.

Have had mine for just about a month now and it is impressive! Fits so well that it does not feel large nor heavy. The concave contour of the band to rear casing makes all the difference. I have noticed that notwithstanding Auto Run Enabled (in the menu) setting and with the Heart Rate recording feature menu set to Run Only (not OFF; not Always On), the Auto Run feature will not initiate any Heart Rate Recording as you begin an activity training session (without pressing the RUN Button). And, there will not be any Activity Training Session added to the Activity screen on the watch. Yes, the CASIO MOVE App will (after it syncs with the watch) reflect the Steps, Distance, and Calories of such an Auto Run activity, in the day's Life Log, but there will not be an Activity increment to the Total Activities. In addition, for stationary workouts, indoors, or core workouts when you do not want nor need any GPS, it would seem that Pressing the Run Button and then Pressing the Run Button again -- before GPS Capture -- would save GPS battery drain and simply record your Heart Rate, duration, Calories, etc. However, I have found that GPS still hunts for GPS Capture, and will give a vibration and audible confirmation of GPS Capture. This is not the desired nor intended results. Also when this happens a Map route of that portion of the Training Session after GPS Capture will be displayed on the MOVE App after syncing. If the workout was stationary this is a waste of resources. Hope CASIO improves the watch's firmware and the MOVE App as time moves on. Especially, since they are releasing more G-Shock Squad multi-sport HR Watches in May 2021 (although those are not going to be Tough Solar powered).

Out of all the watches featured on your channel these are the ones I'm the most excited about, and don't get me wrong, I'm a huge mechanical watch fan, in fact apart from the soul I really like how you can put on the automats on and forget and they will keep time for as long as you're wearing them. But I have a garmin for sports tracking, which they are great for, but the thing goes out of juice on the timekeeping and notifications mode in 7 days - low battery anxiety, while this just might keep going in that mode on and on indefinitely like my other solar powered casio. Thus even with the occasional run the battery life might be still amazing. It's like exactly what I thought when using the garmin on a day to day basis instead of mechanical automat "I wish the day to day time keeping on this thing was solar power sustained".

I've had this watch for a week now and I love it. I got this watch to replace my Samsung Gear S3. I like wearing a smart watch at work, I wear my nicer automatic watches when I'm not at work. The solar power is a game changer. I haven't had to charge it yet. I don't like getting notifications on my watch so I don't use it for that. I like to be able to track my steps, heart rate, and workouts, and this watch does a great job. This watch is definitely a lot more durable than my Samsung Gear S3. I don't have to worry about knocking this watch into something and damaging it.

It dosen't work that well I'm guessing. If you look at the Casio Protrek smart watches (which I supect if you open the G shock up the guts are the same) Their run times are only slightly lower than this watch. I'm guessing the solar power is what gives them the 1 year span for BASIC time keeping only. Normally the Proteks are 9 hours - 2 days - 1 week depending how much you are using the gps on the watch and how often you ping the satelites when you are. I think watches like the Protrek WSD-F21HRis much better cause its got a color screen and you can find great sales on them if you look. Note the Protrek has a dual mono/color screen but not the solar.

I’m super impressed by this watch on paper and i’m really tempted to buy it but the sheer size (especially the huge lug to lug) is putting me off… I also wonder how it compares to the new smart rangeman (which seems to be far more expensive tho). I‘d also love to see a bit more color variety here, i‘d really dig an olive green one. So maybe i should just wait a bit to be able to try one on and decide then.

Hi-Time Teller, I just recently purchased this watch I've been waiting for it for at least 2 months first impression the display is not as big but viewable enough. I'm sure later on newer versions will come with more features like push up and pull up counts, as well as other various fitness features. I've had other G-shock watches so I've always love Casio watches I understand what they are and what they're not. A bit pricey but taking into account this watch could last for many years it's well worth it.

However you have to put up with a ton of software issues IF you buy it when first released!! Funnily enough I was actually waiting for this release for about 3 months. Then it was delayed due to some virus you may have heard of. Then my eyes started wandering.... I actually think Casio screwed up delaying that release. When I started enquiring a watch shops for various fitness/navigation watches during lockdown (by email of course) many said that the Garmins were flying off the shelves as so many people had taken up running. Anyway, another great video TT hope you are safe and well!

This is the G-Shock I´ve been waiting for! This watch could replace at least 2 of my existing watches. This G-Shock has every feature I use on a Garmin Forerunner 235 and on Suunto Traverse combined! All that for a decent price. Waiting until availability in Austria. I am concerned about battery life: Does it hold up with my 4 year old Garmin Forerunner which still runs 5 days straight? Oh, btw: The app looks very similar to Garmin connect! Just in a black / red color scheme. GPS Fix takes 3 minutes? Holy moly that´s ages compared to Garmin (15s) or even Suunto (1min). But hey! As long as GPS data is as accurate as on my Forenner 235 I´m happy! If this watches GPS data is as inaccurate as the data logged by Suunto Traverse: I´m disappointed.

How does the watch set the time? Does it use GPS and sync with 1PPS? My CITIZEN 900 caliber GPS watch will sync to GPS in 3 sec when looking at the sky. When I check my CITIZEN with a real $35,000 GPS it is perfectly in sync after a morning sync..

love g-shocks, but due to my small wrist size the biggest g-shock i'm comfortable going up to is the classic rangeman. if they could make a watch with similar functions in a smaller size that would be amazing

Jory: Noticed your workout. Nice. The US Army is changing it's fitness test pushup event (Army Combat Fitness Test -ACFT). Start on your chest on the ground, hands at shoulder width, push up to fully extend your elbows, lower to the ground, LIFT YOUR HANDS from the ground, that makes one push up. Repeat. These are killers (key to success: hold you back very straight). Just a thought. Enjoy!

Well, I really appreciate that G-SHOCK starts to develop their range of smart sports watches and I definitely see the potential for the future. The biggest advantage of this watch in comparison with other smart watches is a solar battery and much longer battery life. The cons are: 1)the size - it's huge. on my little wrist it will look ridiculous 2) basically, the only activity it can effectively track is running. My favorite smart sports watch on the market is Garmin Forerunner 245 music. It's able to track all kinds of activities and download your playlist so you don't need to have your phone or player with you during workout. And it's cheaper.

hey dude. love your videos! You do power lifting indoors, how do you find the calorie count and heart rate accuracy monitor to be? They seem a bit off when doing other workouts other than running. Calorie count seemingly calculates itself based on distance run rather than heart rate...? Any thoughts?

What I mean is let’s say I’m doing a workout and I’ve started the workout on the watch, while the watch is in workout mode can I also use the count down timer too at the same time? Like if I exit the workout screen and go to the timer screen, will it still register my workout? Hope you can make sense of what I mean🤣 thanks

Thanks for the review! I am bit against smartwatches because I consider the wristwatch as a release from the computer and smartphone addiction. Therefore I love the traditional watch which just shows the time without causing me ending up at internet. BUT: I am physically active and have considered to get a pulse monitor for the wrist. You persuaded me to get this watch instead. I just ordered one at a good price.
