I’ll take my blue collar husband over a ceo any day. He shows me so much love and compassion. I had surgery this week and he took complete care of me, our family, and our home so I could rest. ^ that is priceless to me. Money cannot compare to that.

Really great points! I have also been concerned about this kind of content because, although it is nice to see a resurgence of young women interested in femininity and traditional relationships, the messages on social media may actually be drawing them away from real masculine providers.

Money comes and goes, and not something to be taken for granted. If you don't want to be with a man because he can't provide more than average, you don't deserve him when he can provide luxury.

i’ll be your comment saying “woohoo Cynthia! let’s get a million views!” :) This was a great take, and i think a lot of the conflict comes from women who have worked so hard and think it’s a “waste” if they themselves get burnt out or if they find a man willing to buy them many things, they believe that’s their only way of being validated as successful. The thing is, success and material things aren’t what make you successful, it’s all relative to your own beliefs and what you’d like out of life, like you mentioned, most women are hardwired to want raise and protect our children and enjoy managing a happy home and keeping our husband, it’s so natural, and it definitely shouldn’t be viewed as a last resort.

Cynthia I couldn’t agree more with everything you said in this video. It’s much more important to find a husband that always puts his wife first in every way vs. a guy being willing to be talked into unnecessary flex purchases for social media like we are seeing with influencers.

I’m relieved to hear you talk about this! I’ve noticed this trend too, but I became especially concerned once I started seeing this “low key sugar baby” trend cropping up amongst Christian influencers as well. However, I wasn’t sure if I was just being paranoid or not because I didn’t see anyone else discussing the problem! It just seemed like some of these ladies were bragging under the guise of a “husband appreciation” post. As you know, a lot of people are very critical towards housewives-especially those who make content about being a housewife- and will accuse these women of being fake and secretly miserable. So I wonder if some housewives are trying too hard to prove how great being a housewife is by showing off material possessions, vacations, etc? Perhaps the bragging and display of luxury has become a defense mechanism for some. You also made a great point in that this sort of mentality dehumanizes men. I’ve never heard it put that way before- very well said! I’m looking forward to more of your tradwife reactions, even if they’re filmed in odd locations. Lol 🫶🏽🍁

You are so well spoken so it makes the information easy to digest. Very interesting aspects here! I like what you said about the sugar daddy type of content and what in actuality can help you to thrive. I also like that you included the comment about alienating men (and having a son and a husband) it really does make me change my way of thinking. (If he wanted to, he would). I do think that way but in moderation although sometimes I think I have been carried away by the content as well so thank you for bringing that home and providing that reality check. ❤

Here to say, that this video reminded me to tell my husband how much I appreciate him for being so generous and caring with me 💖 He is one of those rare good masculine men who care about providing for and protecting his family. How lucky I am 🙏🏻

Hi Cynthia! ❤ Thank you so much for saying this! Would you have any advice for single women in their mid-30s who want to be homemakers after having spent a long time healing from abuse from their birth families? I know it's never too late but the content in the online space usually doesn't take into account women who went through such life circumstances. ❤🎉 I could do with some advice. Thank you!

is not really a commodification persay (at least imo), but nonn-traditional women jumping the bandwagon to get the same things they would have gotten years ago without still doing a thing (the best example of all of this is the ''soft girl era'' trend), who are basically the vast majority of women out there.
@yucheung5853
@yucheung5853 11 күн бұрын
but I think you do need to recognize the necessity for women to perform "masculinity" under a system where people associate masculinity with competency and femininity with incompetency. "Soft girl" will hardly be viable for women from the working class/the poor. And women would not have the respect and power they currently have if it is not for the feminist women who push themselves to take challenges and try things that are against their nature. I think with the new "bring back femininity movement" the traditional feminists should not be a target of attack and more merrit should be given. After all, it is only with a certain level of economic power/security in social starus that women can afford to be "feminine," to be kind and to be free to do what they want.

Yes, couldn’t agree more. To add, a lot of women who grew up with nice things and a lot of money sometimes think that by virtue of that, they’re automatically entitled to that for the rest of their lives. Life doesn’t work that way. Add social media (“xyz person has this, why don’t I?” or “xyz’s husband did that for her, why can’t you?”) and the over-inflated sense of self that feminism instills into women, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. I understand, to use your example, that an engagement ring should be something nice, but there needs to a bit of practicality here. Don’t really know many guys in their 20s that can drop $15K+ on an engagement ring, unless they have very generous or well-to-do parents, or they’re in the EXTREME minority of men who make multiples of hundreds of thousands of dollars at that age and have money to throw around like that on top of saving for a house, emergency funds, 401k, etc. Same thing with a first house. It’s called a STARTER home for a reason. Something reasonable and safe you can live in to start your life together, and you use the equity from that for your next place. I’ve seen way too many people go above and beyond here only to have financial troubles down the line. Now on the flip side, many men also understand that they need to make sacrifices in their professional lives if they want a more traditional lifestyle. Unfortunately, we no longer live in a time where an average five-figure income as a blue collar worker (though there is absolutely nothing with that, and those folks work just as hard, if not harder, than your average business executive) is enough to comfortably support a family. As a result, many men go into careers they can merely tolerate to give their wives, in your words, “the space they need to thrive and be comfortable.” Great video, as always.

Girl! You’ve lost so much weight, hope you are ok. Also I agree with most things you said, but looking for an already established person to marry is not a bad thing. After all, most men won’t marry potential in a woman. They want us to already be pretty, fit, feminine etc when they meet us, if not they won’t even glance at us.

I think 'if he wanted to, he would' should be more about a man doing the best he can at that time. There's nothing sweeter than knowing your date is in college and broke, but he still buys you coffee or dinner. It's more about gestures and intentions than shallow monetary stuff 😊

I think women are digging their own grave by focusing on monetary value being the most important thing in your relationship. We need men to understand that women have a lot to value to provide as mothers and wives without needing to also make money.

@CynthiaL she talks about "social media" being the cause for converting a relationship into a commodity. I think that she misses the whole point of marriage. Marriages are not about love and "partner"; marriage is all about wanting to build your spouse. Marriage is not the "significant other," but a merger where neither the wife nor the husband do anything without a joint agreement. Love is the ingredient to drive that kind of bond, but love isn't a reward that can be expected in return. Marriage is always giving 100% without the expectation of a reward. The reward is seeing the spouse thrive.

Critical thinking allows you to look beyond someones appearance and ideological differences to objectively listen to what they are saying. If we are only inspired by people we look, act and think like then we're really not that inspired.
