I just discovered the whole clothing reselling biz after reading angry comments from thrifters complaining about re-sellers snatching up all the "good stuff" and selling it for more than thrift prices. LOL, I just purchased about $300 worth of clothing from ebay and Poshmark! I love thrifting and finding a good deal, but I don't have the time to dig through racks and bins and what-not trying to find something I like in my size. OMG, I am NEVER setting foot in a retail store again, knowing how much donated clothing is out there! I appreciate re-sellers like you because I can search for what I like and get it for less! It's so wasteful to see how much perfectly good (or easily mended) clothing is just "cast aside." I totally understand that your prices have to be higher than thrift prices because you are providing a service and have expenses for carrying that inventory and shipping it (and paying tax on your profits.) I am totally fascinated by this new "side hustle"!

Your insights are always refreshing. I am setting goals, month by month. For this month I want to list items with the potential of making minimum $140 a day, five days a week. I am relisting items that will renew that day, every day. That is about 13 items a day. I finally hit the 400 items threshold this week. I am having a slow increase in sales weekly which makes sense since I am gradually adding more items. I think I am the only person I know that photographs and lists each item all in one shot. It’s just how my brain works. Since getting a store last month I have been able to put on sales and that has helped. It’s definitely worth the money for the store.

Love the Puppy. ❤ This year instead of setting "Goals" I picked a Word. I have struggled with not being able to do what I could do in the past as far as work and being productive since my cancer diagnosis. So this year's Word is "Acceptance". This is the year I will accept what my life is now. Full of love, blessings and that despite things out of my control, built and will be celebrating my one year anniversary of my little eBay shop. I find that batch photographing, and then having a set time each day to list works really well. It may work for you.

😂 Your doggo is too cute! December was my slowest month of the year. Every month has dropped since last January. I've really been diving in past few weeks trying to be more consistent and accepting lower offers on older inventory. A lot of my recent sales have been very old inventory, which I'm glad to see go, but definitely time for a clearance sale here also.

Jenn, I think your dog is broken. My December was the lowest month of the quarter, so nothing spectacular. I just looked at last January. I'm on track to beat my 8 sales last January. Already have 4 this month. lol I have a full-time job, so my taxes come out of that. I would normally just purchase what I wanted, regardless of the cost as it all goes back into the business. This year, I've decided to withdraw 30% of the previous month's profit to use toward the purchase of inventory. For a personal goal this year, I'm going to thrift as much as I can this year for my personal purchases. So proud of myself. Almost failed less than a week in! Sharpie highlighters. Instead, I took a pic. Maybe the thrifting gods will grant me that pack. If not, there's always Christmas. Here's to a great 2025!

I am like you, not goal oriented. December was pretty slow but I slacked off quite a bit. So far I am doing a lot better in January. However, my daughter is coming to visit for a week so not much will be done that week. Lighting was better on this video. Last couple videos was so bright it washed you out so much your face was glaringly white.
