I was able to get out on another bank fishing trip. This time I wanted to find out if bass really will eat a red lipless crankbait. Thank you all for watching and I hope you enjoy!

Is that the Fury cranking rod? I've got the 703 and like it. Thinking about picking up the cranking model.

That is the 733 MH. I'm liking it a lot too but it's a softer MH. I'd definitely give the cranking model a go. This is the first Dobyns I've owned and I like it.

i did my best start ever on a red craw/cotton cordell 1/4 super spot,,,..over 60 bass..nothing big. but good numbers..got a foxy shad (silver/white/yellow) for sunny days..used craw re cloudy days..after april 20th went more to faxy shad..both still working good june ...i had pretty clear water , and moss and grass on bottom..1/4 oz lipless works great-can slow it down more..still 2.5" long..the 1/2 oz models go too deep in my lake..(moss/grasses)..i know speed...but i can fish 1/4 slower...3 bucks a lure at walmart, can not beat them..

I am starting to get the impression that the only fish you Americans have are: Carp, Cat fish, and Bass. Most people who watch these fishing videos made by Americans, are always about Carp, Cat fish, and Bass. Like myself, people outside the U.S. probably feel sorry for you guys as those are your only choices or, so it appears. This is funny because, if you watch Canadian fishing shows, the fisherman throw the Bass back and do not deem them worth keeping. So, it is kind of funny.

Red has always worked. Now the secret is starting to spread. Some people say Red only works until the water hits 50. Some say Red only works until the spawn starts. Well I can tell you that is not true. Born and raised in MI. Fishing for all my life, red has always worked. Now in MI red definitely works better for Small Mouth than the large. Especially during spawn when the bite is tough. But I have caught them on red the entire year every year. I caught my PB small (almost 7) on red in September. (Granted in MI we are not even allowed to fish for Bass until the last weekend in May). Debo Now for work I am just 1 state south of you and it seems we are about 1 week ahead of you weather wise and I have the Hud 68 weedless. Slow rolling along the bottom last week I caught a 4 on it.
@DEBOSFishing
@DEBOSFishing 5 жыл бұрын

@smbonna
@smbonna 5 жыл бұрын
@@DEBOSFishing What I am doing now is throwing the Hud out, letting it settle while I fan cast a couple of times with something else. then real it in real slow. Sometimes I only real it in 10' or so then let it set and cast something else a few time, real it in 10 or 15' and continue the process. Let us know how it goes. Oh and I have been crushing them on a Keitech here on a under spin.

LOL Great to see you're able to get out and be able to stand on the bank to catch fish rather than going after them through the ice. Here in the South, I've been throwing everything red at the LMB's. Red lipless, sqaurebill, plastic worms, etc have been kill'n them. The only exception has been my jerks. Those have done better in the blue gill and baby bass colors. Great vid, brother!

Megan Cooper It’s probably wind resistance; think about all the skirt material on a jig catching the air & flapping around while it’s being cast out. A lipless crankbait is a lot more aerodynamic, especially a flat sided one!

04/04/2019 Debo Don’t forget about Mr. Pike he is out looking for trouble right now. I got my boat in the water a little before noon for its first voyage of the year. I found Pike chasing Perch in a shallow bay about 1:30 pm, while putting around playing with my fish finder. I caught two about 30-inches and three others about 24 inches. They smashed a Johnson Gold spoon with a green pork lizard hung off the hook. The first one hit a spinnerbait and bent hell out of it so I went old school on the mean sons of guns. Warm sunny windy day’s push warmed surface water into shallow bays. Perch moved into the warmer shallow water, Pike love perch, the Pike caught were full of them. Windy conditions is something you have to deal with every spring. I gave up fishing early mornings and freezing, I start about 11:00 am, and quit around 3:00 pm. I get home for dinner and don’t feel like a human ice cube. Do not over look casting into mud lines on windy points. Used (12lb.fluorocarbon tied to 6-inches of 36lb. 7-strand wire) Not one fish came off.

DEBO'S Fishing with the shad and baitfish colors I’m usually burning them above or on the outside of grass lines, but with the red/craw colors I find myself have more success slowing down and almost crawling them along the bank, the trailers I use are different as well, usually a big bite baits swimmin craw, the claws are cupped and have good action at slower speeds plus a hollow head so if you pause it, it rises in a defensive position and at $3 a pack it won’t break the bank

I’ve been throwing a red lipless this week but haven’t caught a fish on it yet; I’ll keep trying! Water temps are basically 43-46° here. Also haven’t gotten bit on a black/red chatterbait or a red craw color spinnerbait...YET!

Keep tossing them. Once you find where they are at, it's game on!

I got a red lipless last year and had no luck. I broke the hooks on it, but thinking about giving it another chance. Now I had the ice clear about 2 and a half weeks ago. I know that you should use jerkbaits in the beggining, but should I move on to lipless already or stuck with the jerkbait. And temps have been almost at 60 already
@DEBOSFishing
@DEBOSFishing 5 жыл бұрын
I would try both. The lipless is great for covering water. If you find some, you can always come over them with the jerkbait too.

Hey Debonator, Nice video, looks like you had some fun out there! Are you a believer about the red lure in the early part of the season now? I am curious, did you try running a different color of the same lure through the areas too? I noticed you were putting the Revo X through it's paces again. Looking forward to seeing where it places in your 100.00 Reel Tournament! #fishing #bassfishing #DeboNation

Thanks brotha man 👊 I did throw my normal chrome lipless too and only caught that first one. I was alternating at each spot and the red was the only one to get bit after that first bass. Yessir, the revo x will be coming up soon!
