Hey, guys, I'm off work for most of December, and I'm planning on getting out there to do a few camps, and hopefully spend a few days up in Eryri (Snowdonia) where I will be hiking the Welsh 3000s. Good luck with your challenges. Have you heard about Showell Styles’s version of the Three Thousanders? He set an early record for traversing all of them but felt he had not got the best out of the scenery so he vowed to camp comfortably on the summits of the lot. In the days before self-supporting tents, he managed to pitch on that slab near the top of Crib Goch and scrambled, I think on the north side, to find juniper for a fire. His luxury was a cigar rather than whisky. Fancy it?

Fantastic stuff as always, the old tarp tent set up is great in shitty weather. I find that talisker is quite strong and can often help with a small splash of water in it to open up the flavours. Good luck for the new year challenges butt! I need to up my game too. Ahh the dreaded slug on the face dilemma hahaa I sleep in dd mesh tent for this reason. 😂

Hello buddy! You really know how to have a good camp mate. The tarp tent looked great, the slug liked it too 😂. The Talisker Skye looks like a decent affordable whiskey, I’ll put that on my wish list. I think the challenges next year will be great. They would not only get your fitness back up, but be great for us to watch too, and likely give us all some motivation to get our backsides in gear. Thanks for sharing bud.

Cracking camp, absolutely brilliant and that tarp tent is one of my favourites. If I can, i tie the part where the pole goes to a low branch and this leaves room for a mesh shelter inside, a real game changer when it comes to biting insects or slugs. I'mdlove a video of you swimming up a mountain, that's one way to stay fit! 😆

Hey Ryan another great video whilst im enjoying a day off from work. Just been looking at your hiking challenges and they look incredible and good luck with the training. Nothing better than having a challenge to train for. My race in the Brecons last week got cancelled because of the storm and I was gutted as had been looking for to it. No worries though as ive picked up a marathon in The Black Mountains for next April which is perfect training for next year's running challenge.
