A Return to MacBride

A pleasant means of wrapping up an evening! After some chores and cooking supper, I thought it would be nice to make a return visit. My mother and I went to visit this past Thursday and she really enjoyed it. The spillway is now active, which means that there are waterfalls!
Nearby is Lake MacBride and the Iowa River. The water bodies are held together by dams, mostly constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Their projects are found throughout the United States. There are a couple of reasons why they do this:
1. Provides recreational opportunities
2. Allows flood control
Anyway, it was a necessary getaway after a busy day at work 🤙🏼
