My favorite review guy ! I wanted to see a comparison with all your bred 1s. I personally had to pay resale and the salt was real but it is my last jordan purchase for the year . Good comparison vid MJO23DAN. They claimed this sneaker would be a general release. But many people took L's. It was more of a limited release in my opinion. At least where I live it was nuts. I still hate the fact that the backdoor deals were made for enormous profitability. All in all great stuff!!!

Hello! I just want to point out the fact that none has used the Air Jordan One Retro 1 High OG "Laser" as a quality point of reference, neither the Nike SB X Air Jordan Retro 1 High OG black. Both used a full grain premium leather through out the whole shoe. Even though, it is not an original colorway such as the case of the "Shattered Backboard", it amazes me, because nobody hasn't used them as reference/comparison in terms of quality and interpretation of the shoe... Hey MJO, I'm a big fan, not trying to hate but at 2:17 you said exact same cowhide. They're not only different, but this is synthetics and cowhide, whereas Shattered Backboards are made of premium pigskin leather

+Eyaz Rafsun I'm not sure about pigskin but as it was explained to me by a Jordan Brand representative, they used cowhide and even better material on the swoosh. Because of the vast variation between hides, there will be differences. If anything, they may have processed the leathers differently but they are from the same hides. Again this is coming from a legit source who works specifically with Jordan Brand and retro product.

Possibly synthetic leather. Don't see the leather grain on it as I do on the red panels of the shoes. Definitely not vinyl.

What about resell prices? I seen them for $300-$375. $400+ for these are way too much. I feel in a few weeks time to a month or so, resell will be around $350 or less.

If I lost out, I think $300 is as far as I go in terms of purchasing off a reseller. Hell how are the 2013 pairs doing? Did they drop because they were going for as much as $650 or more because they were much more limited.

+MJO23DAN I definitely remember cheapest 2013 pair you could find when they dropped were only $600 and up. My house of hoops back then only got like 38 pairs, I don't know about this release. But a lot of lower end foot lockers even got them in. But had less than 20 total in men's, while the HoH got in 120+. These were for sure more readily available. But of course still hard to get.

No ortholite but it's a thick cushiony foam insole. The collars are foam and painted over. Prones to chipping.

+Ivan Lo it isn't fair because material choices have changed over time so that's not something that'll allow me to give a valid answer to. The 1s and 11s have retroed tremendously and every iteration of those aren't the same.

The retro sole is bigger than the Og, all retro soles are bigger shape than the Og. The swoosh of the Og is the only produced in vinile, and the shape of it, is the best for me. I love it! Sorry for my english i’m spanish.

Soo pissed I couldn't get these, I'm from Canada so I'm fucked either way. If I buy em from the U.S seller on eBay $500 + $60 shipping + 90 to $100 on import fees is like $600+ Canadian. Guys in Canada are selling these for $600. If any has a DS pair with receipt will to sell for a reasonable price in size 9.5 then hit me up. I may just have to take the L and pay a reseller price but I'm serious when I say this, when the black cement 3s, 4s, Carmine '91s, Concords, Breds, Space Jams 11s, most of the retro OG 13s I'll be done sneaker collecting. I'm a HUGE Jordan fan and I have a big collection but it's time for me to cool down. I don't have any sneaker connects, raffles suck and I'm not going to use some BOT system or have 20 guy friends sign up for me. I pray to God that this raffle shit ends, resellers get screwed over and getting sneakers won't cost an arm and a leg to get a pair.

MJO23DAN To be honest, I'm in university and I live around Toronto. A House of Hoops in Toronto called me last month after I applied for a position that was part-time but they wanted a manager for stock. I told em, sorry I can't I have school, getting my law degree is top priority. But I may work at House of Hoops part time and manage my studies on the side. If that is the case, the good news is, I don't have to worry about entering raffles because footlocker employees get dibs on merch and % off shoes. I remember in the early to mid 2000s I could just walk in and select my size and pick them up on release date and Jordan's back then were highly coveted maybe not as much now but I do believe the hype around Jordan's will slowly die down eventually because nothing lasts forever. I'm just venting my frustration out about this topic because when I could not get the 1s for retail, some guy in Toronto was like "oh i'll sell it for $600" and gloated about having a sneaker plug (aka - a dude who worked in footlocker probably) that's the shit I want to end. I don't get why people resell sneakers if they don't have any passion for it? I don't want sit here and discuss what I want to do to make more money in a clean/legal sense but I don't wan to be a reseller, only time I resell sneakers is if I wore them once or twice and run out of room and need to let some stuff go. Nonetheless, great vid MJo, you mentioned if I would be against raffles? I say yes, because in Canada we don't have fights or things of that nature with what happens in the U.S over shoes. I don't think I have heard of a case about someone being shot over some shoes on release day in Canada *knock on wood* but even, I try to be extremely aware of who I am around. I remember in 2012, when the bred 11s dropped the mall I was in was an upscale mall but there were guys around who seemed shady so what I did was I walked quickly out of footlocker after purchasing the shoes, went into a bathroom, tossed out the box, put my shoes in my bag pack and went home by Uber. Enclosing, I meant what I said I have OGs, doernbecher's, few PEs, pretty much all Jordans from 1-13. I just want to get my hands on the black cement 3 '88s, black cement 4 '89s, jordan 6 carmines, jordan 9s that drop in nov 2016, some 11s again, pretty much all the retro OG 13s, and the last shot 14s, certain shoes I would double up on and after that im good...that'll be it for me. Who knows maybe I will work for Nike corporate one day in the legal sector.

Yeah unfortunately reselling is part of the culture. It always has been and probably always will be. I don't like the ridiculous prices set but sometimes resellers are necessary in order to obtain some sneakers I want (if price is reasonable) so I can't knock resellers entirely. As for the raffle system, I think it is the most fair. Many people that actually do want to wear the sneakers could be parents who work and are unable to line up or camp and walking in to a store after shift is convenient and gives them a chance for them to score.

MJO23DAN You make plenty of valid points. Like I said, I hope the sneaker thing dies so that it won't be as insane or hectic because I'm getting tired of raffles. Resellers may help people actually get the shoes, but I was born in 1985 (the year MJ/Nike took off). I started watching MJ/Dream Team and the Bulls vs the Blazers in 1992 at the age of 7 and I have been a die-hard Chicago Bulls fan since, therefore for me it's not just a social trend to look cool, its nostalgia. I don't want to pay a rape price for a shoe from a reseller and that is what hurts the game because if that's the case Nike should just increase their kicks another $100. I have sold shoes before and I don't have this urge to rape people who buy kicks off me. If I want to make money I work OT, I save, I invest. Personally, I think it's based off hype and trying to look cool disregarding MJs greatness. I know kids who buy Jordan's who know nothing about the guy. I remember watching a video that Complex News uploaded on KZbin and I think Emily Oberg asked guys waiting in line for the Supreme Jordan's and Supreme Jordan clothing what they know about MJ and these Supreme guys didn't even know who MJ really was, embarrassing. It's not just MJ, i'm a fan of the game in general, especially in the sneaker game. I have Olajuwon's E-tonics to Kemp's Kamazee's to Larry Johnson's Cons to Pippen's to Penny's, J-Kidd, Kobe from his Adidas days...you name it.
