I loved Jalopy and I wish it was a finished game. I had some fun with Landlord's Super but I dropped it in the end because playing it felt tedious at best. I saw they're making a game similar to Jalopy, however unfortunately it's set in Japan. The reason I loved Jalopy was because it was set in countries of the Eastern bloc and Yugoslavia, countries you don't see frequently in games, much less so in that time period. Hopefully one day another developer caters to that niche, or Minskworks creates Jalopy 2.

Well summarized. I really enjoyed Jalopy and I'm also not a fan of the upcoming game from Minskworks. It's sad to see them abandon games like Jalopy and Landlord's Super--two games that have terrific potential but feel unfinished.

Interesting Review!🙂 Is there any chance that you could review "No Time", an indie time travel game from Steam?

Hey thanks! I'll give it a look. I'm always looking for new games to try out and review!

Minskworks have recently announced their new game called Honcho! As for painting exterior walls in Landlord’s Super, you can pour paint into the no-fines mix to change its colour.

Thanks for letting me know-- I had no idea Minskworks was developing a new game. From what I can tell, it looks to be similar to Jalopy in that it is a driving game? Pretty exciting! Thanks for also alerting me to the fact that paint can be mixed with no-fines. I'll certainly have to give that a try 👍

Just thought I would let you know that minskworks announced that they have reached a fair price to buy Jalopy back and are trying to reach this to continue the development of Jalopy.

Thank you for this comment! I was unaware that this deal had been struck, but that is terrific news. Jalopy has always been one of my favorite games, and it was sad to see development cease. Hopefully Jalopy has a long future ahead of it!

fyi you can paint the exterior walls, you gotta put up plasterboard on the outside but you can
@bull_technology5 ай бұрын
Indeed, but this really shouldn't be the case. It doesn't make too much sense to mount plaster board to the exterior of a house. This is indeed a work around that works though 👍

Whilst there isn't a good excuse for Landlord's Super It Is at least worth mentioning the problems with the publishing of Jalopy that stalled development -- which as of last year were actually resolved and Minskworks have said they may continue development on the game.

Interesting. I'll have to look into this, but if it's true, I'll certainly be coming back to Jalopy!

I always get the black screen whenever I sell the first house 😢

Interesting, I haven't encountered that bug, but--yes--the game is very very buggy. Truly sad.

Where is everyone's comments? No exterior paint?!
@bull_technology8 ай бұрын
Yeah my guess is the devs wanted the players to focus more on interior decorating… it’s still a drawback though. The only color options for the exterior of buildings is different shades of beige and white depending on how you mix the “no fines” mix.

Consider Jalopy's fallen and this mess, it's safe to say that Minskwork can't finish a game at last at all. Just one of early access scum developer, much like other craps. (Well, unlike them Minskwork tried at very least, but whatever, it's same as lowest point if result wasn't there)
@bull_technology4 ай бұрын
Indeed and it is unfortunate. I see Minskworks has a new game in the making and I'm hoping this one will deliver, but I can't help but notice the trend--and this was certainly something I aimed to outline in the video. What's really disappointing is that both Jalopy and Landlord's Super are great beginnings to games.

@@bull_technology I've been a follower of Minskworks since its Jalopy devblog days on Tumblr, and with LS's release it became apparent that the team tends to set up clear development roadmaps up to release but have little plans after besides moving on to the next project. They're also clear about creating more casual representations of similar management games like My Summer Car and House Flipper, but themed after obscure modern settings, so the bar of expectation has to be set fairly low. They do stamp out bugs, but as observed during the development of LS it's more commonly done during the pre-release stage, so if bug reports come out after, fixes will be done at a snail's pace, if ever. I'm not sure how they'll approach Jalopy after they reacquired the rights for it, but I do hope they can at the very least address the mounting bugs it accumulated since they ceased support the first round (like the occasional upside down traffic vehicles).
