Okay about the wings thing you had a problem with. The thing is you don’t need to really fly with them since that would be impossible due to all the biomass you have made inside of yourself. You can use them for a longer gliding period like Batman from the Arkham series using his cape to glide through the air.

BTW, these are a few issues to your explanation: Him cloning himself at the end of prototype 1 is possible, but problem with that us that all the clones would've known about eachover and 1 would eventually only survive because they only see the reason for 1 to survive, hence fighting. At the end of prototype 2, he most likely would have consumed an infected bird as he still has control over it, in every cell. That wouldn't make any clones because all those pieces can just go back together as they once were. Elizabeth greene didn't even try to consume mercer, it isnt how it works, she'll have to weaken him before she can do that, but it didn't work.

Inverted consumption would work if it depends on how much biomass a Blacklight being consumes compared to who consumes them. In this case it would allow Mercer a logical way into becoming the protagonist in the third game or even an antagonist we can switch to in the story kind of like a good/evil campaign design similar to the Infamous series. Mercer would have been the only being besides Heller to consume an extreme amount of people and biomass as in the first game Alex can hunt down optional web of intrigue targets and do optional consumption events so the devs could say whoever consumed the largest amount of biomass becomes the dominant Prototype and can slowly cause the Blacklight virus to defect from one Prototype to the other which would obviously be Mercer. I also came up with a theory that suggests Protoypes can actually consume too much biomass which could cause physical features like oh I dunno, glowing eyes and sudden increase in height, normal portions of the body passively showing Blacklight signs like the grooves in Mercer's legs along with the dragons on his back pushing outward almost like the design is a set of thick, glowing veins along with being forced to use a tendril barrage devastator that reaches across Manhattan after consuming a Prototype who already went over the biomass deep end. I like to call it Blacklight corruption because in Mercer's case his body couldn't simply condense a large group of Evolved who happened to be his lieutenants which suggests they have had a long time to grow in skill and power and so what the virus does is alter the physical form to account for the disproportionate amount of mass that it couldn't otherwise efficiently condense and use. Looking back on it Heller exploding into tendrils after eating Mercer makes me think of a tick or mosquito that drank too much blood and ruptured as a result. Funny. As for your take on the cloning situation I don't think it would be necessary because Blacklight could simply function on if a Prototype is torn apart and medically deceased then once they are revived the biomass that was part of them could also be drawn towards them or just lay dormant. Since Mercer is the actual Blacklight virus given it's own identity this could be more likely since there isn't another Blacklight being that is literally the virus that assumed a human shape and identity and since the hivemind is a thing you could go with this interpretation and even add it in conjunction with inverted consumption.

Alex Mercer behavior wasn’t questionable in 2nd game. Alex isn’t Alex it’s the virus who thinks it’s Alex, Alex died in beginning of 1st game and the virus reanimated the body and of course gained his memories thus believing it is Alex.

P1 Mercer Comic Mercer And P2 Mercer are so incredibly paradoxal from one another. P1 he realizes that he s a virus and decides to hold a moral ground by not letting a warhead destroy the city. Comic Mercer decides that humanity isn't worth saving over some low lifers that scrwed with him (as if something like blackwatch didn't tried to end his life on a constant) P2 Mercer changes his mind and says that humanity needs to receive his "gift" so that wars and all problems would stop (even if they would techincally not stop since he couldn't even control Sabrina and Heller, let alone all of humanity. Blacklight on global scale would bring literal anarchy not order.)

Hey, i know i am kinda late to this video but the inverted consumption theory is still viable. Your argument that Elizabeth couldn't consume Alex does not make sense because Elizabeth was infected with the Redlight virus and Alex had the blacklight virus which was way more powerfull and advanced. So, because Alex is the actual host of the virus and Heller is just an infected it could pretty much be possible that Alex just wanted to use him to get some special DNA. Otherwise this was a very nice video. Keep up the good work and don't let this game series be forgotten.

The thing is, we don't really know how much more powerful Blacklight is than Redlight and in which way it is more powerful, and most of the information we have were just theories from Gentek and Blackwatch so we couldn't verify it either. Also, please note that Elizabeth got infected with the virus since around 1968, which mean she must've had at least ~40 years worth of virus evolution inside of her (First game took place in 2008). Do you think someone who had that much experience and power during all those years some how is not as capable as the one who only had the virus for just a couple of weeks (or 14 months when counting in Prototype 2 timeline)? Therefore if EG couldn't inverted consume Alex, then he would most likely not be able to do the same to Heller either.

Hello! Thanks for replying. We do know that the blacklight virus is 10 times stronger than the redlight virus as stated by Doc Mercer in an WoI node. Besides, everything in the game is redlight. Redlight is what is covering NYC. Blacklight managed to gain sentience and can consume Redlight seemingly without ill effect. It may have been Gentek's interference, but that was the end goal of the virus' evolutionary path.@@LaziJefff

When it comes to "the inverted consumption theory" it's quite simple. Green was the avatar of Redlight, while Mercer is the avatar of Blacklight. The entire point of the latter is to be a direct evolution of the former, so Alex consuming Elizabeth makes sense. Furthermore, how can we say for certain that Green hasn't affected Mercer in any way in all that time from the ending of P1, after all, P2 Alex's whole plan was to create a new world with the help of the virus, something that was Green's whole purpose in the first game. So, rulling out the posibility that Alex might still be somewhere inside Heller's noggin is nonsensical.

I like your ideas of having a Female Protagonist for Prototype 3, not gonna lie of having Dana Mercer as a main character to play as. I think my idea for Multiplayer as for characters that we can play as any characters which is possibly like Robert Cross, Elizabeth Greene and playing as any antagonist monsters like the Juggernaut, Supreme Hunter and maybe Evolved. As for multiplayer that I think it will be cool of having a Super Soldiers as a playable characters. Also I think my other idea is that for the story that you can playing as Pariah as a main character, imagine Pariah’s devastator ability that he will have a transformation ability that you can transform into a Supreme Hunter and be able to play as a Supreme Hunter because you know that James Heller’s devastator that you can summon Brawler Hunters or Juggernauts into a fight. That will be awesome, what do you think?

or just make the AI play a RTS in the background lets say blackwatch research technology to advance units and defenses while mutation also does the same and the player can impact one side over another or join one or make their own faction of survivors and whitelights super humans or you can choose no side and have all evolutions for yourself and even beyond this path would require to balance pretty much everything and still give player enough control and decisions for themselves just imagine if blackwatch would want to turn you into a super soldier i kinda want prototype 3 to feel similar to the first one but have more dynamic world and let the player choose what they would like to do

Well I think it's cool that at least in theory (or maybe in fact) the Blacklight Mercer we play as in P1 is not really Alex Mercer but.... I still have to say James Heller has a much more enjoyable personality and I personally like a few of his abilities more like for example, the Bio-bomb.
