I had this lens for a few months last year. I upgraded to the 70-200 is2 due to doing weddings. I miss the size of this lens but the flexibility of the zoom I now have is more important. I paid £350 for it so it's a real hidden gem. It's cheaper than the 135l and a lot cheaper than the 85l. Not really ideal for crop unless you want to shout to your subject. This is also compatible with the extension tubes so you could have 400mm 5.6 for under £700!

+Ashley Nadin I was thinking of getting this lens and a 135 f2 for wedding ceremonies. I have shot with the 70-200 2.8, but I really only take it out for the ceremony. My portraits are done 90% of the time with an 85 1.2. Since you've had the 200 2.8 and the zoom, which do you prefer? I'm more worried about low light performance and focusing speed. The 70-200 2.8 is very snappy and fast. And I like IS. But I'm mainly a prime shooter....

+chinadollcjo out of the 70-200 and 200 I prefer the 70-200 as it has weather sealing and IS

Great review. Thank you. But what happened to Chris?

bird271828 Hi, I'm extremely sad to say that using Chris on our Cafetography videos proved to much of a distraction for some of our viewers, often people would point viewers back to his channel when he was actually doing real work for Cafetography. Between us we decided that it may be the best cause of action to make this change...

That is sad. I now will un subscribe from this channel. Chris was great and made this channel.

Heaven forbid people work together and help each other out, it’s called backlinking. If I search Kai W, Digital Rev pops up. If you’re annoyed with him “poaching” your viewers, how many do you think go from his Chris’ channel to yours? I’d guess you don’t know that info!

4 years later Cafetography is known by nobody while Chris is the Only name you need to know in lens reviews. Not sad about that because he’s put in substantial work to be the best, and this attitude really shows a lack of collaborative cooperation, which could see this channel do way better
