This Bible edition is not for me. Why? Because: Firstly, because it seems that it has ~53,000 references, which is not that much for the "REFERENCE" Bible, the references also appear to be based primarily on verbal parallels between passages, which has some value but fails to capture more thematic or theological connections that may not use the exact wording. For difficult passages, the references alone are unlikely to provide sufficient interpretive guidance. Secondly, this Bible has a Baptist viewpoint. So, the book introductions, topical headings, glossary definitions, and any interpretive comments in the notes will naturally reflect Baptist presuppositions on doctrine and biblical interpretation. This is not to say it contains no valuable insights, but it is not for me. Thirdly, the font size of the main text (10 pt) is reasonable, but the footnotes and references are relatively small (6-7 pt). The density of references does make the text look cluttered and busy, which I find visually distracting.

@akcenat8 ай бұрын
@johnfanortney7535 I did pray for you, too, but based on your comment, it seems more people than me should also pray for you. For all other readers here, I strongly recommend the Trinitarian Bible Society Westminster Reference Bible with 200,000+ Cross References and not above the so-called reference Bible edition. Also, a better choice than recommended by our distinguished KZbin author above is The NASB Reference Bible, a great New American Standard Bible. It has 95,000+ bottom-of-page cross-references in a much more comfortable-sized font than the Common Man reference bible. And if you have a problem with your eyes, don't worry; for reading those References in Bibles like Westminster or NASB, you will not need a magnifier glass.

Thank you for the support of the flat Earth! Greatly appreciated 🙏🏻
@JensenSarpy Жыл бұрын
Where in the video did he support that? Unless you already have this reference bible and his notes mention it in Gen. 1. If he supports F.E. then that's his only flaw because the KJB does not teach nor mention anything about the world being flat because it's not flat. Other than that, Bro. Hoffman has all the correct doctrine on what the bible says on salvation in this dispensation and he knows that all the newer versions of the bible are Satanic bibles disguised as Christian bibles which is completely true. I'd personally like to see a PDF of what the CMRB's notes says about Genesis 1 and see why Hoffman believes the Earth is flat. Personally, I wish the Earth was actually flat because I'd be able to see the southern hemisphere's night sky from anywhere on Earth which is a beauty and I could take a vacation to the edge. The edge would make one heck of a tourist attraction, wouldn't you say? But since the Earth is a globe, there's no edge and I'll have to book a flight to New Zealand to see the southern hemisphere night sky. Have a blessed day!

Thinking of buying this Bible. However, I am curious about the pastors view of modern Israel. Does he share the common view of worshipping modern Jews as living gods like so many other dispensational boomers? Or does he have a biblical view of the modern pagan ethnostate of Israel? I can't abide Zionism. It taints the entire understanding of the Bible.

The Lord was addressing the Apostles in Mark 16:16 and Peter was addressing Jews in Acts 2:38. Peter revealed in Acts 15:6-11 that two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen is NOT necessary for salvation. The Lord Jesus Christ is worthy to be accepted for one's Saviour (Acts 16:30-31; 1 Timothy 1:15).
