A review of Ultradynamico's Rose Race Tires

While Ultradynamico is a very small company, it's important to note that the tires are still made by Panaracer in Japan. I believe they discuss that in the interview you mention. I currently run the Cava JFF tires, and I'm a big fan.

Thank you for the review! I'm a sucker for stuff that looks esthetically pleasing/offbeat so these tires looked interesting to me. However, your mentioning the noise these make on pavement made me step back and reconsider. I'd use these for gravel but also for my daily commute, which is 80% pavement. I like to ride in silence and once ditched a good wheelset due to the freehub racket so definitely not going to introduce any noisy components.

An aside I often think of your cheapest bike-favorite to ride vid . It really stays with me as I do have much the same experience. It's my 90s Covid project that is a little updated and smooth as hell. My go to for long urban and short errand excursions. I Love your channel!

Love my Ultradynamico’s on most of my bikes! Ronnie and Arya are such good folks and friends that it’s a no-brainer. Much like many tires in the industry, they’re made by Panaracer. Support the folks supporting the scene. Ron and Arya are absolutely doing this.

Just got a pair of the rosés in JFF, 700x42. Love em. Super grippy, and agree on the noise (on pavement). They are especially fun at a cushy 20-30psi doing gravelly bouldery forest runs. Love em! ❤️

Hey! Great reveiw! But I noticed that the tires you have are not the "Race" compound, they are the "JFF", you can tell by the fact that they have a little triangle after the word "Rosé" on the sidewall. The "Race" are marked with a dot, the "JFF" are marked with a triangle and Ultradynamico's third compound, the "Robusto", is marked with a rhombus.

Nice review. Due to the noise factor, I'll pass. These, and the Rene Herse are made by Panaracer, as many have noted. If you get a chance, check out the Pirelli Cinturato (H) tires. I got them because they were the only ones available during the pandemic, and couldn't believe how yummy they are - on gravel and road. Enjoy your style and great voice! And RAR is terrific. Glad to know about it.

price is like $3 more than a comparable size of Maxxis Ardent race. Negligible difference. I'm curious how road noise compares to other MTB tires. This seems relevant to me because if I was choosing a tire for maybe a drop bar MTB or an MTB-based 'longer days' rig, I'd be comparing to MTB tires, not gravel or road tires. I might give Ultradynamico the benefit of the doubt until I've had a chance to experience them myself

If I remeber correctly they are using Panaracer rubber. The Panaracer options shouldn't be not to far off in quality. I've read stuff from the folks who've been riding mtb & gravel since the early 90s say these tires(more so the Mars) are similar to some of they or their friends use to run.

Did you run tubeless or tubes? Would love to hear about people's experiences with different sealants (seems sidewall bleeding is common with a lot of brands these days) [I never had an issue with CX tires but seems more prevalent with gravel tires, maybe due to the volume?]. TIA for anyone's insights.

I love how mine look but have had a terrible time with them not sealing. Most expensive tires I ever bought and I needed to switch back to more reliable WTBs unfortunately

Good to know! I’ve had no issues with them sealing. Have you heard of anyone else with this issue?

@@queercyclist no but i haven't exactly asked around or complained yet bc i DO love the company. Everytime i tried to go for a longer (>30mile) ride, the sidewalls would weep tons of sealant on the 1 tire and my trip was always cut short. Strangely, the other tire is mostly fine but still underperforms overall and I have removed both permanently from my Crust Bombora It's just frustrating after spending so much money, especially in Canada with our exchange rate.
