After the movie the grille shell had to be replaced because one of those Hollywood lights fell on the car. The front fenders had to be redone because of all the spinouts in the gravel, etc. A bench seat was also installed to make the car more period correct, the seat was black with maroon piping and the door panels were also redone. The "kid" was shown around the New England area on a bright orange carpet in the shape of an oval with black binding. The fans were kept at a distance with chrome stanchions linked together with black velour ropes. Scenes from the movie were displayed as a backdrop.

It is an automatic transmission - NOT any stick shift.

It shown a small block Chevy in the movie, but it was told that the engine shots were of the Milner coupe, the kid was suppose to have a 289 hi Po out of a mustang and a 4 speed . You could hear the solid lifters in the movie and it sound like a hi Po shifting around 7,000 in the last chase scene before the cop car went over the cliff. It was a 4 speed in the movie you could hear him clutching it😊

the movie sound is a Corvette 427 - the car is not a stick shift - it is a 302 and automatic - I know I was in the car and at the shop

Nascar nbroncosfans yeah thats what i meant.. the original wheels it rode on in the movie. Why would they change them back after all of that exposure on film i wonder.

They did. I did ask Tina and Jason Slover - the owners just a few moments ago on my facebook group if the movie car wheels and caps are still around.

Nascar nbroncosfans so it has the film wheels back on now then... good deal since it is most known with those.
@nascarnbroncosfans60557 жыл бұрын
No they are not. I has the Halibrand on them as it originally was built with on the cover of Rod and Custom in 1974 - - - Built in the early seventies by Pete Chapouris of Pete & Jake’s Hot Rod Repair, the coupe was fitted with a 302 Ford V8, an FMX transmission, and Halibrand wheels. The car was modified slightly for the film, with the addition of non-functioning side pipes, a C-channel rear bumper, and steel-wheels with stock ford hubcaps in lieu of the Halibrands.
