A right triangle has sides 3, (x + 2) and hypotenuse (x + 3), what are the lengths?

a.a + b.b = c.c , So (x+3). (x+3) = 3.3 + (x+2).(x+2) 9 + 6x = 13 + 4x x = 2 lengths are 3, 4 and hypotenuse 5.

It’s a 3,4,5 right triangle, so, x=2 and lengths of sides are 3, 4 & 5 units, respectively.

If you know Pythagorian Triples the first side being 3 means this is a 3,4,5 right triangle to prove it you can use the therom or since the sides are predicted x+2=4 and x+3=5 realizing x is the same for both x=2

clearly pythagorean's theorem is required... a^2+b^2=c^2 what's curious is that there will an X^2 term which means there are TWO solutions for X. But it would appear the X^2 terms cancel out. (X+3)^2=(X+2)^2+3^2 x^2+6x+9=x^2+4x+4+9 0(x^2)+2(x)=4 x=2 side.1 = 3 side.2 = 4 side.3 = 5 VERIFY-- 5^2=?4^2+3^2 25=?16+9 25=❤25✔️

I know x is 2 and the lengths are 3,4,5. But the proof? Use Pyth thm. to create equation. (x+2)²+3²=(x+3)² Simplify x²+4x+4+9=x²+6x+9 simplify again x²+4x+13=x²+6x+9 and move variable to one side and constants to the other. 2x=4. x=2. Then plug in the value of x to get 3,4,5 for the three sides.

I got it right because a "3,4,5 right triangle" is a piece of math trivia that I have carried for years. It was only a matter of seconds to see that x=2;

Let's actually work this out properly using Pythagoras (x + 3)^2 = (x + 2)^2 + 3^2 (x + 3)(x + 3) = (x + 2)(x + 2) + 3 x 3 x^2 + 6x + 9 = x^2 + 4x + 4 + 9 subtract x^2 and 9 from both sides 6x = 4x + 4 subtract 4x from both sides 2x = 4 x = 2 making the sides 3 4 and 5

Any time one dimension of a right triangle is 3, you know right away, the other leg is 4, and the hypotenuse is 5. Knowing that, it was quick and easy to determine that X=2. Using Pythagoras's Theorem just verifies what we already know.

Everyone saying "Duh its a 3 4 5 Right triangle so x is 2". needs to also understand that you can't just assume especially based on looks. It could've been 3, 3.9 and 5.1 (just spitting numbers). That's why exams have "not drawn to scale" cuz you can't assume the seemingly obvious Not trying to discredit people who saw it intuitively. Just got a bit irked over the fact that i solved it normally by just seeing it recommended on google and seeing th cmments like duh a side is 3 so its 3,4,5 right triangle so obviously x=2 But besides that great video 👍

Using the pythagorean theorem X^2+4X+4+9=X^2+6X+9. 2X=4, X=2 so lengths are 3,4,5.

My solution was x^2 + 6x + 9 = 9 + x^2 + 4x +4 6x = 4x + 4 2x = 4 x = 2 Therefore: 3, 4 5
