restructure of crown store prices (removal of some items), combat bug, cross server dungeon finder (pc na/eu), crown mounts in ingame stables ((after the crates is passed)( gives stables an actual usage)), separate pvp and pve scaling. would be a dream come true

tbf zones are their own category. Content is so easy it's only for the story people, crafters, maybe core TES fans; the solo players if you will. The potential infinite dungeon replacing a dlc zone is appealing to the real pve crowd but not the solo players. In other words you have a good point but it's not quite that extreme.

There definitely needs to be new content for PVP, but this is not really comparable. The main content of PVP are the other players. As long as they keep changing, you get somewhat different fights. Wait! Maybe that is what Hoarcrux means: All the opponents in PVE are scripted.

As someone who came back to ESO due to Hoarcrux's PVP DK build months ago, I can say that Hoarcrux is really involved with his community he has built via KZbin and other social media platforms and alot of people look to him for guidance for PVP builds (from what ive seen in his live feeds). This is why he talked as if he was an "essential part of ESO." It's not the game, it's his community. As successful ESO KZbinrs you guys are viewed as influencers and as such, people will often follow the same actions you (the influencer) take. I think that's where he was coming from.

I'm pretty sure the issue with the crown store advertisement randomly appearing is actually related to unclaimed daily login rewards. The prompt to claim your login rewards is the same prompt as the crown store ad, and I'm pretty sure that I've only ever had it pop up outside of the initial login when I didn't want to claim the rewards on the character I initially logged in on.

Agree with hoarcrux on this one . Pvp is why I play and they still don't have a ranked arena and battle grounds modes are bad (chaos ball) 3 way capture the flag where you have 1 team feeds their flag repeatedly to the other team.

Manufactured pain points in order to sell solutions to those issues is a sales tactic I find annoying af. Subsequently, I've found myself progressively playing ESO less and gravitating toward games that don't use that particular sales tactic. Doubt I'll ever completely quit ESO, but I haven't spent cash on the game in years outside of buying expansions when they're discounted.

ESO has way too much actual content to be called a "gotcha" game. He is right about the craftbag though. They could have sold more inventory space apart from ESO + which you get crowns for at a discount and still offer the UNILIMITED craftbag for ESO + only. They could have, and should have sold a limited craftbag, and maybe sell upgrades for it. And they could offer cosmetics that are exclusive to ESO+.

I get your point, but I’m just going to point out that being a gotcha game isn’t just about amount of content. It’s more about shady techniques used. I agree that I wouldn’t call ESO a consistent gotcha game, but I will say they’ve been one at times. For instance, when they made significant changes to racial abilities, knowing that many people would swap a character’s race to maintain the group role they played. That was a gotcha. Of course they placed race and name change tokens in the crown store before that AND advertised a sale for those tokens to hit at the same times as the changes. That was a 100% gotcha game moment. They knew people would likely do the swaps as opposed to spending time farming best in slot gear for a different role, and then learning those roles. At the same time, you players who named their characters based on game lore and those names would no longer fit into the lore with a new race. Yes, after backlash they ended up issuing some of the tokens for free. BUT they didn’t give enough tokens to cover all of the characters on an account. So it was still a gotcha.

It's not like Nord was the best for tanking, then suddenly it got changed into bis healer. I had roughly 10 toons when the racial changes hit, and I barely notice any differences.

@@lamsauce4266 that’s mostly because race never had a particularly strong impact on your performance Race never actually made or broke a build, only enhanced it by a marginal amount But they’re 100% right that ZoS does shady shit like that If it has an actually tangible impact doesn’t change the fact that people would pick X race on Y build for an extra 1% total increase, and would rather buy a race swap to keep that extra 1% on their current build than spend hours farming gear for a new build Claiming they didn’t is even more misleading, especially since they never claimed it was actually necessary just that people did it

Nefas and OG players may recall, game used to incorporate so many more past Chapter/4th quarter content events between normal releases. Helps keep new players IN content they otherwise may have never been able to complete. Earn zone based motifs etc. I had timelines of content releases and devs/ESO website were transparent about ACTUAL dates. Expecting the various "celebrations" was huge for pulling in players. Example: Thieves Guild & Dark Brotherhood. Orsinium, Clockwork City, last I recall was Morrowind and Elsweyr. Notes show when Indriks released. I've my fingers crossed for a Necrom community event with a Watcher as a test dummy! ~dreams~ Necrom has a greater amount of content than any past Chapter release - so I'm happy. New zones, class, trial, antiquities, companions, housing/furnishings, solo and group content. The list goes on. OG 2015 PS4 fanatic who ported to PS5 with NO MORE unusually long load screens. Enjoyed watching your reaction vid better than the deflecting self-deprecating streamer in the background. 🧐

Playing since beta, no craft bag. 2 crafters, craft thimgs split. Jewelry, mediim/light, heavy, enchanting and woodworking on 1. Food, potions, etc on the other. Use an antiquities player on his own. Plenty of space. I store sets on my other 12 toons. Decon what i don't need. Have plenty of room, but i do not do any writs.

ESO was never free to play. At most, people get a free trial. If you’ve been around long enough then you also had to pay for the base game too, and even pay a sub. So it will never be considered free to play for those players. I stopped playing a couple of years ago, so maybe they now allow you full access for free but I doubt it, and it doesn’t change the fact that it could never be called free to play for the entire community.

Some of his major complaints are: 1. Crown store 2. Monetization 3. ESO plus and craft bag 4. We got a new class instead of a new skill line (which he implies means devs hate us?) 5. He assumes none of the money made by ESO is invested back into ESO (states it is instead used to fund Tod Howard, Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield - recent server upgrades are the very definition of investing money back into ESO) 6. "scripting" "perfect auto attacks" "macros" ("60-70% of top-end PvE guilds" are cheating LMFAOOOO - FYI only someone completely clueless about end-game PvE would make this claim...Luca Cash couldn't even get away with modifying his combat metrics for dummy parses) These criticisms are either valid but extremely old (nothing new with Necrom update) or completely unfounded and utterly nonsensical. Also, his claim that ESO is the MOST PREDATORY monetization model in gaming is very obviously not true (Diablo Immortal and Hearthstone are both much worse, just to name a few).

Reading through the comments, you can tell right away who mains PvP and PvE, lol. Hoar Crux, who is not known for his fact checking made some rather “out there” claims he does however represent the general feeling of abandonment and disappointment that most ESO PvP’ers have. There is almost no incentivizes to PvP or to keep playing a game that has gives us zero PvP content for years on end, the fact that any of us still play shows how much we love the game and want it to do well. If PvE and PvP were in reverse roles in terms of how they’re treated by ZOS we wouldn’t even be having this discussion as almost all of you PvE’rs would probably be playing other games and some of you already are.

The only proof you need for ZOS not reinvesting money, but sending it to some other projects, is that you don't see any significant amount of money spent on ESO development. They even just repaint some items and sell them with sky-high price. One artist spent 1-3 days repainting maximum. Back to the point: if ZOS do not give allmost all the money they earn to other zenimax companies and projects, then where is the impact? Why don't we see the results of spending this money on ESO?

There's just too many good games out now, and coming up in the future, for ESO to rest on past nostalgia and ignore performance issues or let bugs linger over long. Aside from the brutal monetization practices, just actually playing the game, with all it's bugs/performance and constantly nerfing all the fun out of the game...just doesn't feel fun anymore. If you're new and enjoying the game, congrats. But those who have been around long enough to see every set get nerfed every skill getting into the homogenized uselessness this game has become knows exactly what I'm talking about. Nerfed into the ground until diversity is dead and everyone wears the same thing. The game is a shell of what it used to be, and big changes need to happen, new ideas and dev blood aside from the nerf happy team we have now, or the free fall will just continue. @nefas please, please submit these ideas to zos. Guild AP. Controlling a keep generating AP. That ap can buy keep upgrades, such as keep commander npc (any class with ults for back flag that gets a throne), npc oilers over doors, increase door health, increase wall strength AND npc scouts on walls to warn of siege on said keep to guild. Guilds need support for pvp to break mob mentality (aka zergs). Small mans can take rss and add a commander npc to flags, etc. Making fights more dynamic.

The simple fact is, servers need to be maintained. Fast disk space costs. That needs to be paid for. (Craft bag). Constant carping because its not free when it is a try for free before you buy....this rubbish should not get oxygen.

Been playing about 5 years and the amount I've spent on crown crate items is precisely zero. If I DID ever 'accidentally' go into it and it asked me for money, I just left and checked professor google for a way to get it WITHOUT spending any money. If that wasn't available I just left and waited until my ESO+ sub built up enough so I could get the item. That's my situation atm where I accidentally chose the wrong faction when I set up my new arcanist character and I'm having to wait another 3 weeks until my ESO+ sub will allow me to get an 'Alliance change token'. What's the problem. But it's to say you need ESO+ to be able to play the game without having to mess around and figure things out which sounds like a lot of work.

Play it like what for 3 months? Without craft bag? I did, I played with a master crafter for over a year but it meant I HAD to keep certain things in my bank and in his inventory and then deconstruct anything I didn't intend to use. ***EDIT*** I did in fact not admit that it sucked ass here, but it totally did.

ESO has no equivelent to WoW's Wowhead, which really sucks! There's UESO and other websites, sure. But most of the time the info they offer is just a copy-paste of the info that's already available in the game; IE: not a hell of a lot. Seals were added both as a loophole work-around to certain EU countrys' laws on gambling; particularly where minors are concerned; and because Microsoft was already under EU scrutiny for this very issue in those same EU countries. So it was an amalgamation of reasons; none of which involve benevolence towards players. The evidence that ZOS _isn't_ funneling resources into fixing PvP is ... PvP. Who gives a shit _where_ the money is going? What matters is where it _isn't going._ Efforts towards balancing the classes seem non-existent. The same couple favored classes continue to make up most of what you encounter in PvP. Why..? Cause they are OP as fuck. And, introducing another class on top of this obvious issue, is like spitting on a PvP community that they've already shoved to the ground. Lag..? The lag is hard-coded into the game. I doubt they can actually do much about that, short of putting in serious work on the game-engine. Which, there may be contractual reasons why they couldn't do that, even if they wanted to (not sure on that). There is so much unnecessary chatter between serve and client; especially during multi-participant combat; that games like WoW just don't have.. It's a wonder the lag isn't _worse,_ actually. Though I agree that it's a mistake to just make up accusatory theories to fill the evidence-void. That could even be called slander. Or is it libel?? Actually, when defamatory statements are verbalized in a scripted video, I think it's technically _both._ He seems to be treating his own departure from ESO as a personal boycott; maybe even subtly suggesting that others should consider doing the same. Not only is it a little arrogant to think that it's going to have much of an impact on the game or get ZOS's attention; to imply that it is somehow "virtuous" to leave ESO (and, by contrast, that it's in some way "ignoble" to remain) is just going way too far. This bit just smacks of narcissism, imo... As a person who knows how to write the scripts he's referring to, I can assure you that no one using such things will ever out-preform a player who is "doing it right"; that's an impossible result to even expect. Scripts that automate weaving cannot adjust or compensate for lag. Rather, even if the scripting environment you're using does have the means to do this, it's not practical to do so because that in-itself adds a degree of lag into the process. Think of it like a feedback loop. But a player will compensate for lag intuitively, without even thinking about it. He's bothered by the monetization of ESO, so his solution is _to go to a Blizzard game!?_ wtf..? His viewers/community brought him back from "the brink"..? Of what? If he's suggesting what it sounds like he's suggesting, that (even if he really means it) is _extremely_ manipulative behavior. Think about what that does, subconsciously, to people. So now, if you don't keep following him, he's just going to 'end it all' or something? I'm not trying to "diagnose" him or anything, but that is a textbook narcissistic maneuver. It's like, "thanks for being obligated to prop me up." And he immediately follows this up by inviting his viewers to send him things he can use to make content...

You can do just fine with base game gear, and DLC overland/crafted sets bought from other players. Some say the mythic items are pay to win. First of all, they are more 'hyped' than they are 'powerful'. Secondly, should ZOS give you the new chapters _for free?_ Of course not! It's not like any other game publishers give game-expansions away for free.. As for Blizzard's games having issues with fairness and monetization; ever heard of Diablo 3..? You can bet Diablo 4 will go the same route, eventually; once they have enough players fooled by promises that it won't. Literal pay-to-win games can be accurately called "unfair".

eso plus: crafting bag, double space in housing, free dlc, free crowns. It was the housing space i took it for. Theres lots of ppl who use the crafting bag from the free eso plus events, and use whats in it after the event, and manage their crafting resources writs while the event ist going on.

I don't know I like ESO now more than it was in beta. Majority of PvP only MMOs don't tend to last too long. PvE is the way to go with PvP sprinkled in the game. Crown Store prices I wish were 1/3rd of what they are right now.

One of the creators even said something upon the lines of the game is torturous without the craft bag. Literally the only people I see defending the pay wall for the bag are those who are coping or those who don’t care about being abused. Inventory management is truly bad in this game to the point that people quit because of it. Now for those who say “just get max bank space etc.” Oh so do multiple grinds that can take weeks, months, and years in an attempt to make inventory management not 100% garbage. It’s at least 30 days per character to max up your horses capacity. It takes whatever amount of time to gather the amount of gold required to upgrade your default bag and bank space, which can almost be 100,000 or 50,000 per upgrade. It takes multiple days/months to learn all the required traits on an item. What for? So you can get vouchers to hopefully by Storage crates. Hell even with all these in game storage items inventory can still be troublesome.

inventory management is the worst quality of life in this game. i have rotating 5 slots free at a time after 10 years playing 3000 + gold items id rather not delete or break down to transmute later and i constantly test gear for pvp so best to have on hand

I am not a Plus subscriber, but get by quite well having created banker characters to hold stuff I don't often need, my only grief is the furnishing limit for homes, I have purchased notable homes with cash money, however, I cannot make them as I see fit, despite paying more for this home than I did the game, excluding the DLC's I have purchased; Because I am not a Plus subscriber, I have limited furnishings?. wait, I spent 12000 Crowns on an in game home and now I cant decorate it the way I would like to because I do not have a plus subscription. I am not bothered by the restrictions at the clothing station, as I take advantage of the rare free 1 week trials. Then there is the introduction of cool stuff that you can get by purchasing crates; with an insanely low percentage chance of actually getting the cool stuff, or complete the endeavours for around six months; unless its for a cool new polymorph, in that case just purchase the crates. And in truth, this company has shown no love for the PVP world for a long, long time. I am not a PVPer, but, I feel this mans pain.

I get that Hoarcrux was inaccurate in assuming where all the funding is going, but that's besides the point. The point is that this game has made false promises and avoided fixing crucial elements to the game, despite loud protest. The servers are a joke and PVP content is sorely lacking. Also putting a paywall behind gear that DOES make a significant impact, competitively, is certainly unethical. Not a new tactic from the developer side, but definitely unfair to the community. I am also incredibly surprised they haven't separated PVP balancing from PVE. That part is not rocket science. Adjust the numbers when you go in PVP instances, like they do with Battle Spirit. I honestly think that they refrain from this separation to keep us on a hamster wheel of non-stop grinding and buying new content. I think that the biggest complain most people have is the lack of transparency. If the devs were more open and honest about why there is delays or why changes haven't been added, people could maybe sympathize to some extent, but the fact that they aren't, likely confirms suspicions that resources aren't being properly allocated.

There is a lot that was mentioned in regards to the Crown Store, lack of earnable content, and lack of attention toward the PvP side of the community that I do agree with, however, to be frank, with how some of his opinion was portrayed, this feels more like a grab for clicks rather than genuine statement about the true state of the game itself, seeing as most (not all) of what was shared in this video isn't really backed up by fact, just emotional response. I am not saying that his feelings are invalid or that what he has experienced with the game isn't true, but there was a lot said that I personally feel like was just said for the sake of attention.

Wanna know how you fix PvP? Turn the Cyrodil map into the next chapters PVE zone, flesh it out with loads more big cities and towns and quests etc - then revitalise imperial city as the main PvP zone other than BGs It'll force the pop into a more condensed zone (and you can add new aspects to it to allow for similar things such as castle defending / attacking by adding a few similar destructible areas and defendable positions and perhaps a couple or redesigned zones found within IC. You could just justify the lore reason as something like "while most of cyrodil has began rebuilding after the 3 banners war the most intense fighting from mercenary remains in the IC and so we've restricted access to mercenaries acting on behalf of the whatever to end the fighting within" Oh and a new PvP specific buff could be useful which "reduces armour and spell power by 60% (or whatever) when you're in a group in PvP of over 4 members when you're further than the first 150m of any keep or castle walls - this would allow for big fun defence attack groups but massively reduce open world zerging

But clearly it's not working enough for even half the games population go enjoy PvP in there - hence it should be reutilised with new areas as next chapters zone so they have less to actually work on to make it - meaning they can put actual chapter resources into making IC PvP enjoyable for all the player base - clearly Cyrodil isn't fixable at this point else (8 years down the line) it'd be fixed by now

of course they have betrayed the players, at least pvpers. And many things zenimax have done since like 2018-ish feel shallow. Yes many of the sytems they have added are an improvement but a lot of it would have been time better spent improving rewards or making more creative changes. Performance, terrible rewards, constant changes, and the ridiculous never ending list of sets, are the biggest problems. Crown crates are the path theyve chosen for a reward system, and its pathetic. I know they say they are changing now but for many its too little too late, and they will never change fast enough, or the amount of things they need to. They need to go through this whole game and do it sooner rather than later. And just because we know about these issues, and have talked about these issues, doesnt mean its not a betrayal.
