There's a light show at the Dome of Light, three times a day between Monday to Thursday (11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.), four times a day on Friday (11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.), and five times a day on Saturday and Sunday (11 a.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.). Only seen it once randomly when I was studying at university in Kaohsiung.

歡迎來高雄。高雄的天氣型態是「夏雨冬乾」，下雨主要集中在6～10月間，冬天幾乎不下雨，而且高雄冬天的平均溫度在20度上下，涼涼的穿件外套即可不會冷。再來高雄是座「海港城」，當然要往港邊走才好玩。建議10：00～14：00正熱時，可以先到「夢時代購物中心」逛街、吃午餐及吹冷氣。之後坐「輕軌」到新光碼頭，往新光路步行幾分鐘即可到「高雄市立圖書總館(在85大樓對面)」，可到裡面看書、吹冷氣，之後到樓頂的新灣花園可看高雄市景和港景(記得要帶墨鏡)。之後再到新光碼頭坐輕軌到「高雄流行音樂中心」或借「U -Bike」沿港邊騎也可以。之後在沿著港邊走到「駁二藝術特區、大港橋、棧二庫及鐵道園區」。之後可到鼓山渡輪站坐渡輪到「旗津」逛老街或借台電動自行車去看沙灘、彩虹教堂、風車公園、旗津燈塔。在旗津燈塔那裡可看到整個高雄港市，很漂亮、很壯觀！當然你也可以不到旗津，改走去「打狗英國領事館、領事館官邸、西子灣看夕陽、忠烈祠景觀台看壯闊港景及市景」。如還有時間(17：00前)找當地人or 網紅Wes Davies騎機車到柴山去看「秘境海灘」也是很棒的景點。下次建議12月～3月間來，氣候涼爽而且沒有雨是最好的時刻，高雄歡迎您。

I love Kaoshiung!! Compare to where I came (Taipei), Kaoshiung has more open space and comfortable. The nightwalk near Love River was lovely and it reminded me of Barcelona. The weather in Kaoshiung is fantastic. We had friends lived there so we visited there couple times and it is always pleasant for a visit.

i enjoyed my elementary and junior high school lives in kaohsiung the rain comes and goes away fast. sometimes very heavy though it's actually surprisingly comfortable during the summer nights if u live in the areas near toward the sea because of the sea wind

Kaohsiung will always hold a special place in my heart because I flew to Taiwan on my own and completed an elective at one of the hospitals there! I visited the dragon and tiger temple, Houyi district, passed Formosa boulevard many times while commuting to hospital, went to many night markets and explored so many other places!😊 I'm glad you enjoyed your trip with your husband and thanks for sharing all your adventures across a country that I love🥰

I’m sorry it had been raining when you come to visit. Maybe come again in winter, and you will find out that it will still be warm here. May I recommend Pier 2 Art District (駁二藝術特區) and Main Public Library. Pier 2 has some of the coolest (and also weirdest) public art, and the most beautiful white carousel I’ve ever seen is located at the nearby 棧貳庫. But it is HUGE and hot af if you visit during day time; I’d say go there in the evening, at least after 3 pm, and the white carousel looks so much prettier at night. The Main Library is a beautiful green building, and the interior design is also really nice. And personally I just love books.

I went to Kaohsiung 40 years ago, in a ship. Kaohsiung was famous for being a ships graveyard, hundreds of ships were rotting in the port, just rusting there. The only other thing I remember is that the population were put-upon and suffering and the port authorities forced us to give them cases of whisky - a bribe, to let us leave lol

We didn’t! It was rainy that weekend so maybe that’s why? I check google reviews on that spot through google maps and some people said it really depends on the day whether you see them or not. It took some people a few tries to go there and actually see them. I wonder if anyone else knows 🤔
