I am sure you will enjoy Plaistows as much as you enjoy(ed) Darley Moor ;-) The upshot for me will be " I will recognise the areas you will be videoing over " I first went to Plaistows in 1989 & have been friends with the owner since 1978. I had my first Flexwing Flight from Plaistows in a Quantum (The Pilot scared me sh##less) so to conquer my fear I went up with another Pilot about 8 months later in a Raven Flexwing. Hopefully will catch up with you at Plaistows in the near future ;-)

Giles, having made a similar choice for my parents and a sibling, I completely understand. That is the downside of long(er) life. On a personal note, I had a cardiac procedure a few months back which seems to be fully successful. I mention this because it will allow me to fly agin as Pilot In Charge! Of course, I have to do training and another check ride and will be limited to a Sport Pilot Certificate but, it beats walking. Best of luck to you in your new adventure! Zach

Well I understand our conversation a little more now. It is always hard to leave a job you enjoy, I think you are currently having the same feelings as I did when I to redundancy from the RAF for family reasons, I didn't want to leave but I needed to, to carry help the family through hard times. I count myself luck that now I am in a job I enjoy, so when I go in each day it is to do what I love doing and not to work, just to make ends meet. I wish you well and I will have to look at a route to fly to get to visit you now you are nearer, I had planned to see you this summer but the weather and work project has restricted my longer XC flights.
