My parents used to go there for about 3 weeks every year in late October and better half of November. They really loved the place. When my dad died in 2008 my mum went several times with friends mostly the same time of the year. My parents used to go for dinner at The African Queen restaurant once or twice during each stay. Thanks for bringing back nice memories.

Love all the historical information. Most walking videos are just POV with no information at all. So while they're filmed nicely I know nothing more about the city than I did before I started watching their videos. Well done. Besides, you guys seem like you have a great sense of humor and are probably a blast to hangout with. Good work, thanks.

I love these, and I share little snippets of information with my husband who asks, 'how do you know that then?' ' Because Tim said so', I reply. Then he goes off and watches the video himself which usually starts another discussion, it's just great, thank you.

Literally the first time we have watched you both pre-Elton, Tim & Mr Boo. Have to say, there's so much detail and information here, we're totally loving this. And (dare I say) preferring it to the recent drone stuff. Wash my mouth 😮 Have decided that we'll take a trip (with my 80yo but young at heart) MiL to Villefranche next year. If you're both around for us to buy you a coffee or even lunch, we'd be absolutely privileged 🎉 All the very best, Chris (from Huddersfield) and Camilla (Liverpool)

Another excellent video; I am getting Arte documentary vibes watching you. I miss Beaulieu, seeing that I used to do all the shopping for Madame there. Though having retired to Nice my bank, notaire and doctor are still in Beaulieu as it is so simple to catch the 100 if I have a RDV there. I must go more frequently in order to have lunch.

I've actually performed in the Villa Kerylos as part of a soirée musicale (as an accompanist). It was one of the annual summer recitals held by the Académie d'Été de Nice. Possibly the most beautiful building I've ever been in. We performers were granted access to parts of the villa normally closed to the public. Like he said, everything is custom designed and built, even the smallest most insignificant details like window latches, door handles, light wall switches

Another fab video thanks. We’d be there soon but …bleep, bleep,bleep….Easyjet cancelled their flights ….aargh!!! We always call the Beaulieu-St Jean route the Pink path after the rose tarmac. BTW Beaulieu Casino was in the advert when the gambler who’d lost everything walked out to find his ever reliable VW Golf - probably need to be a certain age to remember that one!

Hi Tim and mr boo, another 'La Reserve' you may be interested in is in Pont du Loup, in the hills above Cannes. It also catered for queen Victoria and was a place they would go hunting from. It was accidentally bombed by the allies to cut off the rail link to the coast during ww2 and the GIs rebuilt it after the war. It also has some dodgy history. Anyway great to see Beaulieu again, it’s nick name was Little Africa because of the micro climate it sits in. I had the pleasure of working there for a year
@MeandMonAmi3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip off Paul. We are going to be looking for many more in the months ahead of our plans work out. Yes, petite Afrique still has an old bananerie building where (I think) they ripened they bananas in the micro climate..?
@paulmurray2803 жыл бұрын
@@MeandMonAmi very possible, I can remember working in the port for a full year outside in bare feet and when the weather got bad had to pull on a tshirt. The temperature difference between Beaulieu and Nice was unbelievable. And the only annoying weather was the mistral. I just watched your video of Antibes. Nice to see it again. Lived there for four years
