The crude antenna assumes access to a relatively short ground connection and outdoor space for a wire antenna. Wire antennas can be prone to picking up electrical noise. A counterpoise or balanced feed may be a better alternative to a long ground connection. If you are new to radio, when it comes to cables, connectors and antennas, other radio hobbyists or a reputable Ham Radio shop should be able to advise depending on your location and what room is available for antennas. SDRplay only supply the RSP SDR receiver.
