.22 Cricket was my first rifle. Ive had a couple different since. Had a Henry 22 lever gun for a while and man it was fun. 10-22 these days. Great video! I have pondered this topic loosely in my mind but never thought it through as much as this.

I have a Remington model 34 that has a very long barrel. With the cci quiets it makes significantly less noise than my break barrel pellet rifle. It is my favorite grouse gun because it’s crazy accurate and the tube mag hold sixteen rounds so I don’t have to carry extra ammunition. It’s definitely a lot more cumbersome than a cricket but I am pretty tall with gangly long arms and I don’t feel comfortable with a rifle that small.

What, run out of round balls and Trail Boss for the 375 Winchester? 😂 Thanks, Greg!

guns a bit too heavy though the occasional starving grizzly out of hibernation as it's starving to death is a worry. Maybe I'll play with that idea.

Two lefties, huh? I can identify with that. Speaking of high combs, I bought a Browning X-Bolt several years ago in .375 H&H, without first shouldering the rifle. The comb is higher because it mitigates the muzzle jump on higher recoiling rifles. But, I'm a big guy with a big head and I couldn't cradle the front sight in the rear sight. So, I had to put a scope on it which I didn't want to do. Being a lefty and having to do a left cross-over to quickly chamber a new round on the right bolt is greatly impeded because the scope gets in the way. I'll probably never do a dangerous game hunt but if I did I would not be able to safely use this rifle. All of my grandsons are right handed. Now you know why I bought a right handed bolt.

22 WMR shines on larger game than the 22 LR Javalina and turkey are both good 22 mag targets. but you probably don't get many Javalina in the Yukon. 😉

Maybe a sub gauge combo gun could be ideal?

I have one, but I don't like the shot damage and having to spit out the occasional pellet. Also a bit more cumbersome to carry.

Take the rear sight off and file down the front. Rear sights are overrated. 🐥 And do you know the story of Bella Twin at Great Slave Lake? Great story....

I have heard the story... Bella used 22 Longs to get her done! Not sure I am that calm!
