Years back the plan was to give other options for daily coins, but nerf the gym earnings. The first plan was also to raise the daily coin cap to 55, but later removed that and planned on keeping the max at 50. As far as i know people where not happy with the plans, because for most it would a lot more tedious to earn max coins on low-active days. So that might be why it was scrapped, or Niantic just had problems with implementing it

It's cool that you shared all this. I think one of the most important subconscious motivators for making/watching YT videos is the sense that you are sharing an interest or experience with a creator and/or an audience. For the past few months, your complaining about Niantic has made me feel less interested in your videos because it makes you seem like your heart isn't in it, so why would I waste my time watching someone faking having an interest in what interests me. But I see that you're dealing with the frustration of not feeling interested in the content as a result of Niantic decisions that you feel are not aligned with your own interests. Also as a guy coming out of their early twenties I feel more interested in things like what you will offer on the personal channel, which helps me empathise with what you've been going through and admire that you're coming through it pretty graciously and successfully, I hope to similar personal successes. Anyway, I just feel like typing what's on my mind after watching this. For this channel, I really encourage you to make videos you're happy about, if that comes from discussing the business methodology of pokemon updates and decisions that you admire or feel weird about then great, if you're genuinely excited about the spawns in some event or the new content in updates, also great. It really shows when you're interested. If the topic isn't interesting but the views that are on the table is exciting to you, then focus on that and it might help bring up the mood and motivation you take with you into the content. I appreciate the realness of venting, and it does help a game get better if the community criticises bad decisions, but I think unstructured moaning in the wrong place does more harm than good for you. Not that you did that in this video or at all recently. Just splurging out my thoughts no one asked for, sometimes it feels good to type things lol

What you are not mentioning about when getting coins from field research testing was happening is that the maximum number of coins you could get a day was still 50 coins. Niantic was limiting the number of coins you could get from gyms to just 30 a day. So, players had to work a lot harder every day to get their 50 coins.

That's the best insight I've seen from a PoGo creator so far, everyone else seems to be frustrated because they are at the end of their game and have hedged their whole identity in the game, theres no point for them bringing the negativity for new players who have a long way to go before they get tired of "another repeating com day" etc

Mystic7 - You should also talk about the changes in Zygarde cells on routes. You can get up to 3 cells a day, one chance on the 1st time you complete a route. So don't repeat routes .

Old friends, New beginnings also comes with a cool event bonus as well - Double hearts from interactions with your buddy. It's awesome for grinding best buddies because you can get every single heart (including excited hearts) in 1 hour if you know how to get the buddy excited in the 1 hour xD usually takes 3 hours to get all feed hearts since that is the only time gated one but now it is only 1 hour meaning you can do A LOT of buddies in a day if you have spare time.

For us in the UK it is a £2 for £3 of coins, sounds like the same in the USA but that equates to $2.51 for £3.76 worth of coins. similar difference but just wanting to highlight how Niantic doesn't do a very good job at currency exchange. the game is just 20% more expensive here for everything all the time.

I feel you about the stress of a fluctuating salary. Years and years ago when the US was friendlier towards online poker sites, I used to make my income from poker.
