there are soooo many things that i've never heard of in the fruit world! i want to take a taste of each one! and yeah, it was so fluffy! which seems like it would be weird to eat, but it was nice

I had to chop down my Ice Cream Bean tree. It grew over 30 feet tall in a little over 5 Years. It grew so fast that the limbs started breaking. We had to cut it down because we feared a limb would fall on our neighbor's shed. The Big Island's Gifted Gardner (KZbin) has Ice Cream Bean trees that look more like bushes. I was supprised when ours grew so tall so fast. The neighbor behind us wanted us to cut it down anyway because it obstructed her view of the ocean (the tree was already there when she bought the house a couple of years ago). When I bought the tree the nurseryman said not to plant it in the front yard because all the school kids would grab the beans on their way to and from school. Our house in Honokaa is on Kamani St. and the kids use our street as a shortcut to the local schools.
