My Mom and I would head to Westroads Mall in Omaha, NE when I was a kid in the 70's, do some shopping then head to Bishop's for the best French Dip on the planet! They cut the slices of roast beef and put it on a fresh french baguette and a side of Au Jus. If I was really good, she'd get me a piece of their chocolate pie, which was to die for. Orange Julius started along Hwy 99 in central California in the 1960's with small, orange round, stores along the Freeway that looked like a big orange! I know because my older sister and brother-in-law owned and operated one in Fresno, California. Haha! I don't know if too many people remember those though. It was a long time ago! I used to love going to visit them when they were open and working because they had the best hamburgers around! Hehe! Unfortunately they didn't own it for very long. But, the company had those orange stores along the freeway for sometime. When they went to the malls, they took out the freeway stores! There's a town in central California named Orange Cove, California where most of all oranges are grown. Most of the oranges you buy in the grocery stores come from there. So it's only natural that Orange Julius was started from central California!

Never saw a Corn Dog 7 but the local malls had "The Corn Dog", they sold corn dogs, fresh made lemonaide, Icees and soft drinks. They also had a fried chese bar, essentially a 4 inch by 1.5 inch block of cheese dipped in the corn dog batter and fried. They had the best corn dogs ever, even better than the state fair corn dogs. They prepaired the food as you ordered it so it was always fresh and hot. Toward the end they also offered foot long corn dogs and a cheese dog, the cheese dog had chedder cheese in the hot dog. When they first opened locally around 1981 they hired only slim, attractive, college age girls and their uniform included skimpy, Hooter's style shorts over skin tight leggings with a striped polo style shirt.

Pup n Taco: the worst of Taco Bell and Der Weinerschitzel, all under one roof. Roy Rogers' faded with the cowboys fame. And it had not particular identity. B.Dalton Cafe? I'm shocked that Barnes and Noble--the last bookstore standing--remains in business. Kenny Rogers Roasters was founded by Rogers and John Y. Brown, former KFC CEO, governor of Kentucky, husband of Phyllis George, and owner of the Kentucky Colonels (ABA) and the Buffalo Braves and then the Boston Celtics (NBA). And lots more.
