Great video. That gentleman seems like a great employee but more importantly, just an all around great person. I love when I see people happy about the work that they do, thank you sir.

I live in NY and will be working for the thruway as soon as my background check clears. Will be operating a state dump like the one you drive. Anyway just want to say I appreciate what you do! People don’t see the hours you have to put in, the call outs in the middle of the night for months on end, the drive to work in a blizzard so you can go clear the streets..

Citizen complaints- " What do you mean I cant park on the street? " Your driver hit my trash bin which I had in the middle of the driving lane!" "Why do you have to go by my house?" "I don't want my street plowed but I have a doctors appointment I NEED to get to!" " I just shoveled my driveway and your driver intentional plowed me in!" "I got my Prius stuck in your drivers wind-row!" " Your driver woke me up last night, Cant he plow when I'm awake?" " Why can't I throw the snow back in the road?" Idiots.

If I park my car in the drive way I won't be able to shovel it. So I parked in the street ! You ran over my kid's bicycle !! But he left it in the street and it was under the snow where I couldn't see it. SO? You have to back up the plow so I can get by !!

Greetings from Michigan. My grandparents settled on Beverly Street in Galt around 1920 and my dad and his sisters grew up there. All the old timers worked at Galt Malleable Iron and died of lung cancer. That was normal for immigrants all over the country. Safety has improved in many industries. Thank God. I don't have any family left in Canada but I sure miss visiting Galt and the surrounding communities. Before the 401 was built it used to take 6 hours to travel from the Ambassador Bridge to Galt. Now, it takes less than three. The 401 is one of the most beautifully maintained roads around. The service centers stationed every 50 miles were top notch. Although I still only buy Tim Horton's coffee in the states, the Canadian version tastes much better. It must be the clean Canadian water that makes the difference. Also, I was a young kid when Tim Horton and the Leafs were winning all those Stanley cups in the 1960s. I watched him every Saturday night for years on Hockey Night in Canada because we could pick up the CBC "over the air station" out of Windsor. Horton and Bower and Armstong and Pulford and Stewart and Stanley and Hillman and Baun and Brewer and Mahovlich and Keon and Kelly and Shack and Duff and Bathgate and Pappin and Simmons and Stemkowski and Douglas and Ellis and Harris and Nevin and Conacher. I knew the numbers of every one of them. Then you had the trade that brought Marcel Pronovost, Terry Sawchuk and Larry Jeffrey over from the Wings. The Leafs really suckered Jack Adams on that trade as well as the Red Kelly trade. Between Punch Imlach, Harold Ballard and Jack Adams you had quite a circus.

I want to get my CDL and eventually my heavy equipment operator license. Plowing snow has always been a dream of mine. I can just imagine waking up early in the dark, getting in a snow plow and plowing early while the snow is still coming down and clearly the roads in the beautiful snowy environment for people.

Only time I hate snow plow drivers is when there is no snow or ice on the road and they are scraping up the road shooting rocks at cars. I have seen this alot in Alberta.

Idiots who park on the streets during plowing should have thier cars pushed off the road by the plows , right into a 6 ft high snow bank where it can stay till spring if lucky , Keep up the great work guys and stay safe

Keep up the great work!!! I live in Kitchener too! Great place to live!!! Just some idiots in city hall that love to waste our money. I don't know what the hell is going to happen with those new bicycle lanes they just put in 4-5 weeks ago. We didn't have a time to get used to them and now winter is here and it is going to be a real cluster fk when the plows hit them and cars have to navigate around them. Who's going to ride their bicycle in the winter when snow is 8 inches high?!? So we lose one car lane and it's going to be a nightmare.

As a plow driver, lots of people don’t realize what we give up for them. We are on the road making them safe, while they are in a nice warm house sleeping. We give up lots of our time, making the roads safe for them.

Except 80% of drivers are driving on summer tires.. because there are no obligations or laws forcing people to use winter tires. So, no wonder there are so many accidents.

My side view mirror on my truck was removed by what I assume was a city plow but I couldn't prove it, I live in a small city but they have these highway plows they use which are huge all I know is that it was broken off during a big snow storm, coincidence, I don't think so.
